Miami Protest - Nancy Pelosi Book Signing

Posted on 08/06/2008 8:46:47 PM PDT by baba123

We were at the Nancy Pelosi protest today in Miami. There were only about 20 people. It was very disappointing. We hope that more people show up for the next stops on her book tour. Come on people, go out and make your voices heard or don't come on here and complain. I have pictures but don't know how to post them. If anyone lets me know how I will post them.

OK, but what happened. Appreciate your going out that is great.
Sometimes when we do FReeps their are only two people. Me and husband. So are you saying that only 20 people showed for the bookstore signing?

The book signing was inside of a Jewish Temple and you needed tickets to go
inside. We were outside and there were about 20 of us. We were on the local news. Alot of cars were honking at our signs. When Pelosi exited the building
she was rushed away in her Cadillac Escalade. The SUV was parked between
us and the door she exited from so she could not see us but she sure heard us.
I really hope that there is a greater turnout at the other book signings.

Good job!!
Twenty is not bad at all. I know the MoveOn types get more people out, but those louts have nothing better to do but smoke pot and protest.

Oh my Gosh you did really well. Please give us a report what went on. It looks like you have nothing to complain about. Remember some FReeps are just two people with American Flags and some signs.

I'm sure it ran on soybean oil too. Typical elitist liberal snob.

Thank you for your effort and do NOT underestimate what you did.

To a politician at a Book Signing, 20 protestors IS a big deal. Don’t think it was not somewhat disconcerting to her; IT WAS.

The book signing was inside of a Jewish Temple...

Can you do that inside a Jewish Temple?

Even if you could I wouldn't. Something sacriledge about the whole thing. Didn't Christ kick people out of the Temple for selling?

The more I learn about this woman the more dismayed I am about her. Sheesh!

According to a Rabbi that was outside protesting with us, this was a very liberal Temple in Miami. Of course, that cleared up a great deal.

Thank you so much! This was my very first FReep and it lasted approximately two hours. Everyone outside was wonderful. We simply felt that we had a purpose for being there. She confirmed that as she was zipped away by security detail and local police. We strongly encourage more FReeps for the rest of her book tour. Make your voice and presence known.

Bad news is our tax dollars may be accounting for most of the sales.

Twenty is very good, baba123. Don’t be disappointed!

The loser left has rent-a-mobs for various occasions that they bus in from all over whenever they want to stage a protest.

People on the right are generally too busy working and raising families to be able to participate in protests as often as they might like—so 20 during a weekday is awesome!

Congrats, thank you and well done!

Thank you so much. At first, I did not realize that 20 protestors was actually a good turnout. Everyone on Free Republic has enlightened me to the fact that we did make a HUGE difference Wednesday evening. My wife and myself have now witnessed the importance and significance that a relatively small group of activists can make. As of today, the message and photos have been viewed by over 1100 people on this website alone. The photos taken by “Cigar Dave” have been posted on TheSchnittShow.com website and we made the local news that evening. More than just a difference, we had an impact.

The problem with protesting from OUR side is that the back bone of America are working people...if Nancy has a book signing on a weekend day, there is a better chance of seeing greater turnour.
