If John McCain picks Mitt Romney as his vice presidential nominee, will it make you more likely or less likely to vote for McCain?
1. More likely
2. Less likely
3. Neither more nor less likely (Elaborate)
4. Unsure
MORE LIKELY!!!
Poll = Who will take the bait?
Second it. Don’t agree with everything about Mitt, but he’s absolutely murder in any forum against the Rats.
And McCain absolutely needs that.
Good luck with that.
Neither more nor less likely. I like Mr. Romney okay, but I don’t think he’s any more conservative (in the ways that matter to me) than John McCain is. Nor do I think he will bring in lots of votes for the ticket, although I could be wrong about that: he was elected in Massachusetts, after all.
Vote John McCain for a pro-gun Supreme Court!
Romney signed in mandatory health insurance in Massachusetts. It's been a run away disaster driving out taxpayers and driving more into poverty. Massachusetts had population decline and the state economy is a mess.
It doesn’t make any difference to me. I can’t vote for Sen. McCain because he supports embryonic stem cell research. I would be able to hold my nose and pull the lever otherwise, but I can’t support anyone that supports those sorts of practices. Unless I’m totally off mark on this (And please let me know I am, because I would love to not have to write in ‘Please take one away from Sen. Obama’), my convictions are just too strong.
God doesn’t close His eyes in the voting booth.
I will vote for McCain either way. I would prefer someone who will carry on the Republican cause though once McCain steps out of the picture. Romney will do that, but there may be others.

3. While I believe choosing Mitt decreases McCain’s chances to win the election, nObama must be defeated and I will vote accordingly.
Less likely.
The last thing this country needs is for example a healthcare plan like the one that is currently bankrupting Massachusetts.
Door #3 for me - I’m voting for McCain anyway, and not altogether happily, and even though I would not like Mitt the chameleon (as in able to sound like a conservative and tell you what you want to hear) as the VP pick, I’d just have to deal with it.
more!
I’m voting against Os... er.. Obama, either way. Romney makes that somewhat more palatable, but doesn’t change what I will do.
Less.
No way is Romney a closet Democrat. No way. If he were a Democrat, he would have run as a Democrat in MA, instead of doing it the hard way. Romney is a conservative, and he’s growing more conservative as time goes on.
3. Neither more nor less likely (Elaborate) : I find Romney acceptable. I would prefer Sarah Palin, but I will support McCain.
Less likely, but probably not enough to make me sit out the election.

I choose #3.
I like Mitt, I don’t think he needs to be introduced to Conservatives as well as proving that his policy changes on things like Abortion and Gay Marriage are legitimate and not just the pander bear dancing in the late Winter.
I was hoping for Jindal, but Mitt will do.
Hi there! :)
McCain can pick whomever he wants. I don’t care. McCain gets my vote not because I am FOR McCain but because I am AGAINST Obama.
the fact that the MSM is so against Romney helps, but I will vote against Obama as long as Mccain picks anyone other than Hillary...
Yes Id like to see McCain Romney and that is what the Dems are afraid of.

"Of COURSE they'll vote Republican, where ELSE are they going to go?"
Hi Norman Bates,How are you:)We just got back from Vaca and I am so tired-heheehe
A picture of Rove waving that through angles looks like he’s making a face. What will they think of next?
Not that I'm that enthused about McCain, I'm not.
But to have a radical leftist, and self proclaimed “citizen of the world” in the White House is unthinkable.
So what's with forcing people already strapped for cash from taxes to pay for expensive health insurance they don't want?
MORE...at least I’d feel comfortable if Romney had to take over as President. Folks like Crist or a few others named aren’t dry behind the ears, IMHO, and completely takes away any advantage the GOP has on stressing Obama’s lack of preparedness.
It will have no effect on my voting for him. I’ve already decided that I’m voting for him no matter who his VP is, since I’m not really voting FOR McCain so much as voting AGAINST Obama. McCain could pick Thomas The Tank Engine for VP and I’m still not voting for Obama.
The only talked about Veep choice that drives me away would be the Huckster.
No difference.
I am voting for McCain come hell or high water.
3. I wasn’t going to before, and Romney gives me no reason to change my mind.
Thank you all for your contributions thus far. The vast majority either for or against have been very helpful.
Me too, but it still makes me feel better about voting for him if Romney’s on the VP side.
But he turns his back on this nation, for what the Sheep are about to do.
Ok, a lot have “taken the bait”. I’m curious now as to your answer now that the waters have been tested.
I don’t think McVain would even ask him. Remember, NO OTHER REPUBLICAN upstages Juan McNasty! And him and Mitt did not get along well during the primaries.
It’s also a sure thing that Ol’ Johnie won’t pick a VP who is more popular among Conservatives than he is.
So, I vote no, not a chance I’ll vote for Mc Amnesty Cap-N-Trade.
I can not vote for a McCain/Romney ticket.
McCain supports amnesty. Romney supports nationalizing another 19% of the nation’s economy, i.e. the “both private and non-publicly funded” healthcare sector, AND together they support “free” health services for illegal aliens.
Romney’s vision of nationalized health care is the largest socialization of the US economy since the WPA and other projects during the depression, it’s even larger than the Johnson’s New Deal.
The most serious problem is the probable combination of McCain’s health insurance portability act and Romney’s socialized health care program. Putting those two together will see the percent of Americans covered by private health insurance drastically decrease and the wage scales of middle class Americans plummet in most of the country, but in right to work states especially.
The effects will be absolutely destructive to the vast majority of hard working families in this country, and the benefits will disproportionately accrue to illegal immigrants, the welfare bureaucracy and welfare recipients, and large corporate donors to the Republican party who no longer have to provide health insurance benefits to employees.
Once the overruns in costs come in, it’s very likely the Republican party could forever lose the AARP voting block due to forced benefit reductions accross the board for retirees to pay for the massive costs of RomneyCareUSA.
Less likely, if that’s possible. No mealy-mouthed liberals, thanks.
In fact, the only way I WOULD vote for McCain is if he chooses a smashmouth conservative running mate. Then, at least I can hope that McCain’s term is only four years at the most.
Oh, I don't know, something profound - how about a conservative on the ticket?
“I dont think McCain would even ask him.”
That’s not the point. And I can promise you there is a very good chance he will ask him. Would that make you more likely to vote for that ticket is the point?
