It has nothing to do with the encroachment of man. We are surrounded by national forest.

I agree. I believe they are losing their fear of man because of laws enacted to protect them. In CA they've been protected for around fifteen years and in OR and WA though they still can be hunted the use of hounds has been prohibited for many years, without hounds it is a stroke of luck that a hunter kills one.

Another one is shot after mauling a Chihuahua at a Watsonville mobile home park.

Dang! Mauling a Chihuahua should get the cat a medal.

Maybe if we just put big balls of yarn for them to play with they would leave us alone.

A few years back I lost four prize (goat) bucks to a mountain lion. At the time the deer were committing suicide in droves on the road past our house. The cats go for the easiest take.
There was a famous goat herd down in So. Cal. that the owner finally had to liquidate because even in broad daylight with her with a rifle, and her Pyrenees dogs guarding the herd, she was losing goats to the cats.

I’m a geezer of sorts. I’ve spent many years in the wilderness regions of the southern appalachians. In all those years the enviro-nazis have denied that cougars still existed in the wilds of north Georgia, both Carolinas, Tennessee, and Virginia. We outdoorsmen were soundly ridiculed by the sporing media as well.

Then in 1994, I learned from a paper company executive in Maine that California was trapping cougars and moving them east, from Florida to Maine.

Rumor has it that some farmer shot one and it had tattoos indicating California origns. A 260 pound cougars ran in front of a truck on US 64 near Cshiers, NC this past spring and was hit and killed. I have several photos of the beast and the markings added by our good California enviro-nazi scum.

The truth never comes from the mouths of the lefty scum bags.

Right turns
