Title says it all. AP...so can't post. John McCain...Hispandering 101.
Anyone have a link other than AP...please post.
“Let me close by talking briefly about my respect and gratitude for the contributions of Hispanic-Americans to the culture, economy and security of the country I have served all my adult life. I represent Arizona where Spanish was spoken before English was, and where the character and prosperity of our state owes a great deal to the many Arizonans of Hispanic descent who live there,” McCain said.

Way to go juan!
Vive La Raza, Mi Amigo Juanito De La Amnestia!!!!!!!
Maybe the indigenous Indians peoples will take offense since they were their before the Mexicans.
Wow... this is who the Republican Party nominated for the presidency? This is not Mexico, no matter how badly the Mexicans want it to be. Arizona is part of the United States, which speaks English! By his logic, we should all be speaking Iriquois or Cherokee (or any number of native American religions)
How’s his Aztec?
More McAmnesty BS:
“I and many other colleagues twice attempted to pass comprehensive immigration legislation to fix our broken borders; ensure respect for the laws of this country; recognize the important economic necessity of immigrant laborers; apprehend those who came here illegally to commit crimes; and deal practically and humanely with those who came here, as my distant ancestors did, to build a better, safer life for their families, without excusing the fact they came here illegally or granting them privileges before those who have been waiting their turn outside the country. Many Americans, with good cause, did not believe us when we said we would secure our borders, and so we failed in our efforts.”
I represent Arizona where Spanish was spoken before English was,
Way to go Juan! Make sure that you lose BIG time, okay?
Aye carumba.
Viva Azatlan!, Juan.
If you are a Native American, you should be rightfully indignant for being ignored. But, hey, this is politics....
Just when I start to think I’m gonna vote for McNut...he goes and does something like this.
Please McCain, I beg to stop trying to lose the election.
The message he sends is atrocious, but the statement is factually correct.
You and me both.
This guy drives me nuts!
He gave the same speech today at LULAC that he did before NALEO including the line about Spanish being spoken in AZ before English. I wonder what kind of message he is trying to send with this line.
it’s a fact!
Interesting that AZ passed a proposition in 2006 with 75% of the vote making English the official language of AZ.
Well, sorta correct. The Spanish settlements were concentrated in the Rio Grande valley of New Mexico and the California coast. Darn few European people lived in between, before the Mormons arrived in Utah.
“The message he sends is atrocious, but the statement is factually correct.”
True. The messege he is sending is this:
the southwest once belonged to Mexico, once spoke Spanish, so bring on Aztlan. He is legitimizing the Aztlan movement with idiotic statements like this!
The sad part is that McCain feels more comfortable in old Mexico where he spent the Fourth of July than the middle of Indiana. Criticize Hillary all you want, but she looked comfortable in the middle of Indiana downing a Crown Royal with a beer chaser, something Snobama or the RINO relic could never manage on their best days.
John, we paid $15 million dollars to Mexico for Arizona
if you are going to sell out the US to Mexico could you at least get a fair market price for it and not just give it away.
BTW did you mention to Obama that Arizona was confederate territory during the civil war?
Man, do i loathe that man.
“its a fact!”
It’s also a fact that the early peoples of the Hudson River Valley spoke the Mohican language before they spoke English. What does that have to do with the 2008 Election??
Just when I start to think Im gonna vote for McNut...he goes and does something like this.
***Bookmark for later when someone tries to browbeat me into voting for him because the “choice” between him and Obama is so stark. The GOP made that choice when it threw conservatives under the bus.
Next thing he’ll give Alaska back to the Soviets and they’ll drill in ANWR.
McCain has to realize that America is an English speaking nation, that the roots of our society and government are Anglo-Saxon, not Spanish-Mexican. If he keeps this up, he will lose.
He might not be aware that other languages were spoken in what is now Arizona before the first Spaniard went looking for the Seven Cities of gold. Spanish is one of the last languages to be spoken in that region.
McLame Ping (should we make a McLameTruthSquad Pinglist?)
...to think that Wesley Clark almost had me convinced to vote for this guy...
Spanish - language of the Conquistadores.
I would ask to be on the ping list, but it would just continue to piss me off. Not because of the pings (and I’m sure with McCain, they will be constant), but the fact that I would be constantly reminded of this glorious RINO and political train wreck.
“The sad part is that McCain feels more comfortable in old Mexico where he spent the Fourth of July than the middle of Indiana”
McCain spent the Fourth of July in Mexico? Oh, I’m gonna be sick.
“Spanish - language of the Conquistadores”
And the Aztlan crazies call their movement the
Re-Conquista movement! They’re not even trying to hide it.
I'm in the same boat as you. Even though the alternative is unthinkable, it will take a fifth of Old Overholdt and two bars of lye soap to get me through the day I do vote for McCain. When he licks La Raza boots like that he makes my flesh crawl.
Here’s how I choose to hear it:
...where spanish was spoknen [BEFORE WE KICKED YOUR FAT A**ES OUT].
Someone should give John pandering lessions.
Somebody has got to reel him in. No one is holding him accountable, so he can say things like this.
I say yes, we DO NEED a Juan McLame truth Squad list.
I have been listening to a lot of Ronald Reagan’s old speeches and we have gone WAY off course.
God Bless America!
Pandering? Oh. That’s right, long ago, the English were in AZ - before the Hispanics and Native American Indians arrived....
Perhaps it is ugly; however, it is a fact of life.
LOL! Yeah, I kinda noticed, too... lol.
I cannot vote for this man.
