Kentucky Woman Prostitutes Self For $100 Gas Card
All Headline News ^ | July 2, 2008 | Amy Beeman

Fort Wright, KY (AHN) -- To further illustrate the way rising gas prices are effecting people all over the world, police say a woman arrested in Northern Kentucky for soliciting prostitution was trading sex for gasoline.

A sex sting operation by police was in effect at a Days Inn Hotel when Angela R. Eversole, 34, was arrested along with four other women for selling sex. After further investigation, police found that rather that trading sex for cash, Eversole bartered her body for $100 gas card and other gifts.

The man with whom Eversole made the exchange, Kenneth A. Nowak, 50, of Avon, Ind has been charged with promoting prostitution.

Eversole plead not guilty to charges of prostitution and doing business without an occupational license. She bailed herself out of jail and is scheduled for her next court date on July 29.Amy

The author got her journalism degree for a gas card as well, I guess.

“the way rising gas prices are effecting (sic) people all over the world ...”

affecting v. effecting. Learn the difference and then rely on more than spell check for editing.

... trading sex for gasoline.

Need to see a picture - her guilt can only be determined with a picture ...

Rising gas prices had nothing to do with it. An older gentleman I knew years ago said about an unfortunately trashy mutual acquaintance that “she would have gone down for a quarter.” It’s only the press that is trying to make this sound like desperation city.

Unfortunately, they’re succeeding, and a friend of mine burst into tears today and asked why everything is so awful and how we have gotten to be in such a situation. The thing is, everything is not awful and life is not desperate. But the press keeps up a steady drumbeat and people are freaking out.

McCain should address this if he wants to win.

It illustrates nothing of the kind, despite what this poorly written piece says. It merely illustrates that there are still and always will be lowlifes in our culture who will debase themselves for any price.

Exactly. Despite evidence right under their noses, they accept what the MSM tells them.

You need to surround yourself with people that are more intelligent than this! ;)

Or use a different vocabulary word, but that's probably asking too much for a journalism student/major.

If she were prostituting herself to earn $100 to send the Obama campaign would it be reported as a tragedy?

What a stupid, twisted story on the “reporter’s” part.

I’m sure prostitutes use CASH for gas as well, I guess the john didn’t have 100 cash so the gas card sufficed. If he gave her 100 dollars she would have eventually spent 100 on gas. Ridiculous spin.

The kind of stupid story that liberals will go “what a shame, women are prostituting for gas now because of Repulbicans”.

A lot of people are very scared right now. I really think that if McCain addresses this and gives people confidence, he might win.

People laugh at GWB for telling everybody to go shopping right after 9/11, but it worked. We have a consumer economy, and if people had lost confidence in it and just gone into hiding, we’d be a lot worse off right now. In fact, one of Bush’s drawbacks, paradoxically, was that he was so successful in making people confident about the future, that most people didn’t even think there was a war going on or that anything had changed a lot from 9/10.

The Dems immediately attacked and have spent years burrowing from within and trying to undermine this confidence. This year they’ve really succeeded. The important thing for the GOP is to to start building up that confidence again.

Ah, yeah...seems a bit ironic that she’s forgotten the SAT words she had to learn to get into journalism school - and effect/affect is one they really harp on!

Do they offer an occupational license for prostitution in Kentucky? If not, that charge should be easy to beat.

When I was 16 in Ill. and working in a gas station, I had women come in,6 to a car, and have a note in the air cleaner “A$$ for gas”

So are they now going to go bust the women who tramp themselves for a couple of rounds of free drinks, dinner, and maybe a shopping spree in a one night stand?

Or does it only depend on when/where they get the gifts in exchange for sex?
