because we have to have SOMETHING to do while we wait for out computers to do something
I read last night Intel is going to make chips with thousands of cores. as we all know they probably will and the software will take it all up and run worse than ever

I don’t recall ever waiting for my computer to do anything. It’s fast. =)

The old "Computer Literacy" bookstore in CA used to have a section called "chips" which sold memory, processors, controllers, and snacks.

"Lucky you! DSL is not available to everyone."That is true, and it's a shame. I live in a rural area, and waited a long time to get high speed internet. Many areas still don't have it. In my town, a company is going to be offering internet access by fiber optic cable in the next couple of years. I can't wait!

Almost looks like you can reach out and grab one, doesn't it?
Question for dial-uppers: Roughly, how long does it take for you to download an image like I just posted? (chips)

My family lives just outside OKC in a heavily wooded subdivision.
She begs people not to send images of any kind. Puts everything on hold for a very long time.
Really sad to live in a metro area, and not be able to get modern technology.

Will they be available in barbecue flavor?

I read last night Intel is going to make chips...Those appear to be kettle-cooked chips, but I could be wrong.

LOL! That looks like Dennis Nedry of the original Jurassic Park! I couldn't find a photo of him at the computer.

"Dennis Nedry was a overweight and obnoxious computer programmer at Jurassic Park. Due to his financial problems, he accepted an offer at Biosyn to smuggle embryos off the island."

In that South Park Episode, the character is shown eating potato chips/crumbs off of his shirt in front of the computer.
I couldn’t find one online, but that would have been better.
The real life photo came off the same website I used for the South Park image. I just added it for laughs.
Sorry dial-ups! If you get ATT local phone service, and live in a formerly BellSouth area, you may be able to still get DSL for $10/month as I do.

Yes, that is a difficult situation to be in, because you can't expect people, especially on a site like this, not to post images. Hopefully, the technology will soon come around for everyone.

But almost certainly SP modeled that character after Dennis Nedry? There’s too much in common between the two.

My husband has a chair just like that one by his computer.
Luckily, it’s not accompanied by the pile of trash. That’s disgusting. How hard is it to put a trash can next to the computer and empty it once in a while?

Oddly enough, I prefer pretzels to chips when I’m near a computer. I hate the grease getting all over the keys. (The pretzel salt shakes right out of the keyboard.)

My wife raises ten kinds of holy h*** if I leave a drink or plate near our computers. We have a trash can next to our main computer and it stays EMPTY. I just take my coffee cup or drink cans with me when I’m done.
