Dont expect Eddie Murphy to give you fulfilling multi-characters-by-the-same-actor movie experiences much longer. The actor has recently gone on record as saying that he wont be making movies much longer. But weve all been anxiously awaiting a Nutty Professor comeback!
Eddie Murphy recently spoke to Extra, and on the program he announced that his upcoming film Meet Dave will be one of his last. Said Murphy, "Fifty years (old) I'll have been making movies thirty years and I have close to fifty movies and it is like why am I in the movies
I've done that part now. I'll go back to the stage and do standu

I don’t think he even likes his movies. He wanted to be cool and suave - a black James Bond, not professor Clump.
He is stuck with Clump.

Huzzah. His movies were 90% garbage, 9% pablum, 1% worth watching.

Eddie Murphy must be very, very rich - probably one of the richest Hollywood actors. Most of his movies exist in a place beyond goodness or badness. He is talented though, as he was a great comedian doing SNL and stand up before he became a huge star.

You are one of the few here that admit that the guy is talented and has done well. I don’t know about his political leanings, and most will agree that his personal life is not something to be followed. I have enjoyed his movies though. Enjoy your retirement Eddie!

I never thought much of his lisp and mannerisms until the story came out about the transvestite.
He was funny on SNL, the cop movies. After that...pffft.
To: Perdogg
I think he’s still ticked about losing out for “Dreamgirls”.

He made a few good movies (Coming to America and Trading Places may even qualify as great, regardless of where the story idea for Coming to America came from) but short of his voice acting as the Donkey in the first two Shrek movies, his recent stuff has been forgettable at best.

Dinosaur Media DeathWatch ping applicable?
_______
Seems a bit of a stretch, given he is simply going from one aspect of the media (movies) back to where he started (standup). I’m pretty sure movies will continue to be made after he leaves.
