Picked it up Saturday in Indy. We drove home with the top down. It's a 2008 Pontiac G6. It's got On Star, XM, and a perky engine that gets about 25 mpg. Saturday, it also had a perky blond in the passenger seat but she didn't come with the car.
What channel do you usually listen to on XM? I listen to either 47 Ethel or 41 Boneyard.

I am late for class because of a lengthy response I was posting to someone on another thrad who has a perfervid hatred for all things related to public schools.........and by extension to any type school other than homeschooling.

i like the 80s channel, and Top Tracks, which is 80s rock. Xsboy favors ethyl and squizz. of course i have fox news on a fair amount as well as ameright, the rightwing talk show station with laura ingraham et al. they have tons of sports channels, as well, for hockey season.
does it have the onboard phone thing too? i cannot get my cellphone to work with mine. xsteen's rav4 is all set up to recognize her phone so she has hands free capability. the sienna has it also even more capability [recognizes up to 3 phones and hundreds of #s-- i don't know hundreds of people! LOL!] we were fiddling with it last week and it recognized xsboy's phone, but not mine. i guess i need to call cingular and see what is what. it is bluetooth capable and i enabled the bluetooth on the phone, same as xsboy and xsteen's phones, but it is ignoring me!

The g6 is the forerunner to the Grand Am right? Good cars.
It’s got On Star which is GM’s customer service emergency assistance line. You can press a button and get emergency assistance and it automatically summons assistance if the airbag deploys. It emails me vehicle status checks monthly that tells me tire pressure, oil and fluid levels and engine status.
You can sign up for hands free cell phone service but it doesn’t have bluetooth and it’s a separate number.

I think the Grand Am came first. They make G6 in 2D and 4D models, plus the convertible.

xshub has the Denali with onstar, and i guess that he doesn’t have the auto phone capability in there, but then he already had bluetooth. i like this for the kids, so they are not monkeying around with their cellphones while driving. see that’s why i love japanese vehicles, they have these gizmos that are so handy. the van does stuff that i don’t even KNOW about, i really should examine the manual so i can take advantage of it. for now, i would settle for it to recognize my phone. at least i know it’s my phone and not the van, since it did recognize xsboy’s. you just have to have the phone physically present in the vehicle and if it rings, it comes out over the speakers etc. you don’t have to activate it in any way. i rely heavily on the backup camera and sonar sensors in the van. makes it a breeze to park in tight spots. the Rav4 is top of the line but toyota doesn’t offer navigation or the sensors/backup camera in Ravs. i feel handicapped when i drive it!
