A movie that will never be remade, so hats off to the less politically correct 1930s by producing this gem. But lets kick off, for those yet to see it, by stating unequivocally this is not a movie about Democrats. The ace in the pack was that the director, Tod browning (who had just finished shooting Dracula), used a cast of unknowns, and having deformities that were not tricks of the camera.
Nevertheless, this far from being a perfect film with poor editing, and obvious limitations to the acting. Its also short, with a running time of just over an hour.
IMHO, if you want a great evening of Black and White, pair it with The Gold Rush and you wont know whether to laugh or cry.

Nonsense. The best movie ever starting with “F” is “Flight of the Phoenix” (1965) with Jimmy Stewart and Hardy Kreuger.
F is for Fake
Some really bad movies there. However, don’t go to IMDB and search for titles with “f”. Apparently they include adult movies.
Fantasia
Forty Second Street
Both won best picture oscars.
Forbidden Planet: Shakespear (kind of) in superior 1950’s sci-fi flick.
Fitzwilly: Mid 1960’s ensemble comedy ked by Dick Van Dyke as a small scale grifting butler.
Force Of Evil: Superb 1950’s gangster film with John Garfield. Very much like ‘The Asphalt Jungle’.
(A) Face In The Crowd: Audacious ensemble drama with a slowly evolving, sublimely slimily evil Andy Griffith as ‘Lonesome’ Rhodes. Required viewing!
Fantastic Voyage: Scientists and a submarie shrink down to microscopic size to lazer a blood clot. Most noted for Racquel Welch in skin tight rubber and a brief, silent cameo with James Brolin as a technician. Superior specual effects!
Fabulous Baker Boys: Jeff and Beau Bridges as piano playing brothers, whose lost standing act is broken up by Michelle Pfeiffer.
Fuzz! Burt Reynolds lead Ed McBain’s cops after ‘The Deaf Man’. Also noted for the first film to feature the torching of a wino and Reynolds in nun drag.
(A) Fistful Of Dynamite: James Coburn as an IRA expatriate demolitions expert constantly running afoul of Rod Steiger south of the border.

There’s a little known movie that my husband just loves from either the late 1960s or the early 1970s called “Friends”. It’s a love story about 2 young people who fall in love but because they’re so young, they can’t get married. I think it’s a French film, and Elton John did the soundtrack. I’ve seen it a couple of times and it’s a bit on the artsy side, but it’s pretty good.
Funny Girl was good despite Barbra Streisand
The first 45 minutes of Full Metal Jacket is the best movie ever.

How could you possibly have any credibility if you don’t have any of these fine films on this list. To omit one of these might have been understandable, but to omit ALL THREE?
