I’ve only stayed at eight of them.
Hysterical review from Trip Advisor

Sounds like the White House the day the Clintoons moved out and the day after the Obama’s move in.
lol!
for real?!
I actually wrote a lengthy review for TripAdvisor.com on the most disappointing hotel I’ve ever been in, the Pontchartrain in New Orleans on St. Charles. THis was in May 2005, pre-Katrina. Don’t know how to post it, but if you google— Pontchartrain Hotel tripadvisor.com pretty on outside—you will probably find it. Or get on tripadvisor.com site itself and search through Pontchartrain reviews with keywords : “sad hotel, but pretty on outside”.
Went to NYC for a second visit last year. Stayed at the Westin near Times Square.
Walked by the Carter every day going to/from the Westin. Looked pretty bad.
My morbid curiousity got the best of me and I walked into the lobby.
Looked like a teenage junkies bedroom.
I wish the link to the Ramada inn in NIagara Falls was still active- I would like to know why (I live close to NF)
Inquiring minds would like to know..... what were you wearing. :)
No way! I think we stayed at the same. We were traveling through town and it was late (3am) and the place looked real nice up front (red and white trim like a honeymoon place). The clerk signed us up and gave us the key. I should have turned around when I saw truckers in the back parking lot. The room should have made the top ten list above.
I can’t believe that none of the one’s on Central made the list.
Those can’t possibly compare to a hotel somewhere in Mississippi the Hubby checked us into.
I should have been more suspicious when I kept asking, “How horrible is it?” and he refused to make eye contact while repeating (a little too forcefully), “It’ll be... fine!” It was very late and we were exhausted so I gave him the benefit of the doubt.
Too many disgusting things to list and I hate to dredge them back up as I’m only just beginning to block them from my memory. However, the bathtub drain was broken so the only way to shower was to stand on one foot like a flamingo while holding the drain plug up with the other foot. The final straw was when Hubby handed a “fresh” washcloth into the shower for me and it was “pre-haired” for my convenience. *hurk, hurl*
I agreed to stay married to him on the understanding he’s never allowed to pick out another hotel. Ever!
BTT
I don’t usually stay at hotels when I travel (normally I stay with family) but if it’s inconvenient for them I will stay at a hotel.
The last hotels I stayed at here:
Holiday Inn Suchevsky Vall, Moscow. Four stars, very nice!
Lev Yerushalayim, Jerusalem. Residence suite, Four stars, excellent!
I have already booked a room at the Beverly Hills Residence Inn when I visit my parents in LA, usually I stay at their house but it’s not convenient for them this time. This is supposed to be a very swell place, we’ll see.
Dolphin Hotel room 1408
he he

Oh Dear!
Worst (Non-US). Hotel San Angelo (I think), Matamoros, Mexico. It was so bad (in terms of "stained" sheets", lack of hot water, and overall filth), that I wound up sleeping in the Matamoros bus station instead. I was 19.
The Hotel Carter used to house junkies back in the 1980s, who were collecting SS while shooting their lives away. I thought that they had fixed it up, but I guess they haven’t.
Let’s all brag about how much we can spend on hotels and impress people.
Worst hotel I ever stayed at was a place in the Philippines - I stumbled down the corridor looking for the bathroom one fine morning and found myself in the midst of pigs and chickens - the place literally had no wall at the end. But the staff were some of the nicest people I'd ever met.
My hotel in San Cristobal (Chiapa, Mexico) had roosters and chickens on the balcony terrace. It was actually charming, until the damn roosters kept cocking at 5AM.
The only hotel I paid for was Jerusalem, and it was quite moderate. The other hotels were paid for by others.
