I sung this song so long in church, I remember being shocked it was written by Hank Sr.

A lot of folks are amazed that ‘I Saw The Light’ was written by a person considered in his day to be one of the most raucous and rowdy honky-tonkers of all time, Hank Sr.

If you’ve never seen a movie called ‘Hank Williams - The Show He Never Gave’, starring the Canadian singer Sneezy Waters (who looks like, acts like and sings like Hank Sr), it is worth hunting down, the plot of the movie is Hank’s last night on Earth and he’s in the back of his Cadillac wishing he was performing for a small town crowd in some little tavern along the highway, and his mind takes him (and the viewer) to that place, the recreation of places and people circa 1952 is amazing, and he performs a rendition of ‘I Saw The Light’ that is just spell binding.

I can’t say enough about it, but if you like the song, and especially if you like Hank Sr., go get it!

Have a great week!
