If you can find anything with more raw energy than this, by all means...

After seeing Patty Smith sing that it seems creepy when a guy sings it.
Bruce is a hard core lefty. Was he singing it to Hillary or Barrack?

Well, music critics, I happen to think it really rocks, anyway.
Patti is great, but considering how much she looks like a man, I thought it would be good to show a man doing the song.

It's rock and roll. Kapiche? R-O-C-K and R-O-L-L.
I don't hear politics when I hear a jam. I pity those who do!

You want something that rocks? Try “A Tout le Monde” by Megadeth. But make sure it's the version from “United Abominations.” It's the version where Dave Mustain sings with Cristina Scabbia.
Truth is even outside the politics Springsteen is overrated. “Born to Run” was alright but he hasn't produced much that's (IMHO) worth my time.
When you take politics into consideration Bruce, and many other performers, need to remember they're entertainers. When you've paid a performer to “practice their Art” you don't want to a sermon about Marxism, Gaea Worship or America bashing. That isn't very entertaining. And yes, he's done it.

But then again, I've never cared for Bruce Springsteen, so I guess my reaction to this is par for the course. ;-)

Sorry, I turn off the radio or change channels whever I hear the Who.
Strong Personal Opinion Follows:
Over 16 years of formal musical training, including many instruments and voice. I love many types of music including (obviously) Rock & Roll. I regard the Who as TOTALLY contrived and musically bankrupt.
.....and I don’t like ‘em either.

To this day I won’t watch CSI because they use Who music as an intro. And that song is exactly what I mean by musically contrived.

right, like that is gonna past muster with with political-appropriateness committee here. Most of us can tolerate the liberal whack-jobs if they shut up and sing.
However; I guess you never heard that Pete Townsend forbid Michael Moore the use of "Won't Get Fooled Again" for Fahrenheit 9-11. Many of these old rockers are pretty conservative.

Before I married Mrs Shibumi I lived in my bachelor pad (a duplex) with one roommate. The TV belonged to him. He was never there. I never turned it on.
Ever.
I have been through periods of TV addiction (and therefore know a lot of useless stuff) and periods of total disconnect.
Then I go and marry a woman who own a home theater w/Dolby surround and over 1,000 video cassettes and DVDs.
That’s why I spend a lot of time in the basement with two computers, a stereo and YouTube. Just thought of another link you might like.....

It's definitely higher, likely to accommodate the lady's voice. I usually don't like these kind of remakes but this one is better than the original.
