A WOMAN was electrocuted at Pomona, last Saturday.
The victim, Sharon Jairam was pronounced dead on arrival at Suddie Hospital, also on Essequibo Coast.
She had been employed at the hospital as an accounts clerk III but was at home alone when the tragedy struck at around 14:00 h.
Reports said the mother of one saw two of her sheep trembling and appeared to be suffering from cramps during a heavy downpour of rain and went to rescue them.
But, as soon as she touched one of the animals, she began to scream. However, a neighbour who heard her and rushed over could not do anything to help Jairam.
By the time the main switch in Jairams house was turned off, she had already been fatally shocked.
It was later discovered that the sheep had, apparently, come into contact with a burst live wire connecting their pen to the house.
News of the death caused a large crowd to gather at the home of the deceased and the incident left other hospital workers and those of the Regional Administration in shock and sadness.
Jairam had been an employee in the Personnel Department of the Regional Administration for several years before joining the hospital staff on July 1, 1994.
She has left to mourn her husband, son, parents and other relatives.
Ewe need a lambasting for that rammark. Wool it will not be me that does it.

The sheep is probably dead. I’ve never seen an animal so fatality prone. They’re born actively seeking a really stupid way to die. I’ve seen them be run over by an irrigation pivot that was set to make a full circle in three days. The wheels they threw themselves under was moving, oh, maybe 150 feet in one hour. When the machine turned on, no wheel could move faster than about 10 feet in one minute - if the wheels were going to move for a minute solid, which at the speed it was set, they were not. They might move for 6 to 15 seconds per minute - tops.
Not exactly a speed one would think to be a threat to anything capable of moving at 20+ MPH, right?
Didn’t matter. They laid down in front of the wheels and got run over. They had 125 acres of field to cover and they’d choose the seven 12” wide wheel track as the place they just had to lay down.
If you see a sheep dying somewhere... let it go, man. To dive in and interfere with the natural order of things results in tragedy as befell this poor woman. Sheep dying is like leaves falling off of trees in autumn: it’s what is supposed to happen.
THAT'S funny!
Shouldn't that be a flock?
what would androids dream of? /obscure
Oh, and a possible Darwin Award.
Prayers up for any kin/friends of the woman.
Cheers!

IOW, lighten up.
Thank you for posting that. Unbelievable how funny death is to some people here at FR.
My granddaddy used to raise sheep. He used to that
when a sheep got sick they would just lie down and
die.
I`ve seen them being chased by a dog and run into trees.
Run over by a irrigation wheel, wow.

Here’s a hot tip for you:
We’re all gonna die! Nobody gets out of here alive!
The reason for the humor is that some choose to compete for a Darwin Award and thereby amuse those of us who take a bit better care of our genes.
For a prime example of a Darwin candidate, Google up the report, with photos, of the thief who had the foresight to buy a pair of insulated pliers before attempting to steal the copper bus bars from a live power company substation.
Talk about a ZOT!
Yes, I think the moral is that you should always use a wooden staff when herding your sheep in a rainstorm.
Ha ha - Why do you think Wiley E. Coyote is the laughingstock of the predator community?
Millions of fat plump sheep and he's got to go after a roadrunner?
Okay IW, too much cartoon time with grandkids.
