The Sarah Jane Adventures is growing on me. And always Dr. Who is a hoot. Wish his female companion were more imaginative and creative and more into sci-fi.

I’m going to be honest, but I don’t like Donna.. I prefer Martha.. I tried to be open mind about her, but I just can’t like her..

I couldn’t place the actress there for a second, then it came to me...

(One degree of separation b/w James Callis and Alexander Siddig ;)

Thats who that was. I thought she looked familiar.

I'm starting to think that the Humans and the rebel Cylons are going to find Earth (in our past) and father our ancestors. That would make the intro voice over from the original series relevant. "Life here began out there... may have been the ancestors of the Egyptians, or the Toltecs or the Myians... (sp)"

Battlestar Galactica - IMHO, the best show on television. Truly inspired writing.

...how about Judeaism?(Judaism?) It seems that the idea of ‘the one true God’ is catching on with Cylons and Humans alike. Maybe a whisper into Abram’s (Abraham’s) ear...

And possibly, those who do not believe as above go on to influence ancient Greece at it’s beginning.
But either way, I think you are correct in the timeline; I don’t think they’ll be jumping into present-day Earth.

Boring Dr. Who is still better than most of what's out there.

I'm watching last week's BSG even as I type this. I've been losing interest quickly this season. Losing patience.

I missed Sarah Jane this week -- so that was Part II from last week and Part I for next week. No reason to watch part II on friday. It's okay to watch, but low on the priority list.

Lots of SG-1 for me to catch up on. It was a busy weekend -- and I didn't even get to see Speed Racer yet.

So what’s the story on the Sarah Jane Adventures?

A muddled, confused Harry Potter wannabe that can't quite grasp the spirit of the original. If a little magic is good, an overload of it must be better. Right?

Wha...? [puzzled]

Sarah Jane is a spin-off of Doctor Who. She was the Doctor’s companion around 20-25 years ago. The show is geared toward
younger children, so lots less scary than DW, and much less risque than Torchwood, the other Who spinoff (for mature audiences only).

No magic or Harry Potter stuff whatsoever. She uses technology she got from her travels with the Doctor. I believe she’s also been in a few of the DW episodes as well.

Should be: I believe she’s also been in a few of the CURRENT ERA (2005 on) DW episodes as well.

Sarah Jane is starting to grow on me.

Still prefer Martha to the Doctor’s most recent companion.

The ‘Eureka’ marathon was excellent, as always. Can’t wait for the new episodes in July!

I remember seeing the film ages ago on TV, when it was called ‘Operation Kid Brother’, robomatik.

Always have had a soft spot in my heart for a 1908 Broomhandle Mauser used as a personal weapon.

I’m lost here too... magic? Last I checked, there was definitely no magic involved, although the Doctor Who universe has all sorts of creative explanations (well, OK, they all boil down to ‘it’s an alien’ or ‘it’s a rift in space-time’) for any supernatural-looking phenomena.

Jamie Bamber is the new Apollo. Richard Hatch was the old Apollo and yes he still has a role in the new BSG.

Only if Universal forces Ron Moore and David Eick into it. Moore and Eick despise the original series.

It's good but you have to accept it is aimed at children. It is more like the original Doctor Who in some ways.

for some reason, my DVR skipped the second 30 minutes of the Doctor but I liked it up to that point. But when I watch Blade Runner with Riddley Scott's spin on it, it is boring to me so I kind of see where you are coming from.

When I watch Blade Runner from my own interpretation, it is a much better movie but it doesn't come close to the brilliant social commentary of the novel.

But the Ood are kind of cool and the reference to the Devil was also cool. And I liked when Donna told him off about his heavy-handed sanctimony. Even a Time Lord needs to be told off from time to time. I can't wait to see the second half of it some day.

If we think the liberal bias in USA tv entertainment is bad, the BBC is much worse. Last week’s Sarah Jane episode was a slap at the Iraqi War. This coming week’s Doctor Who episode is a Al Gore infomerical.

That’s actually one of my favorite MST3K episodes!! I love the intro with the girls on the boat and the bots and Joel making fun of it. And when Joel dresses the bots up. I think I’ll go to google and watch it!
