Team Hillary’s New Plan To Steal The Nomination (and it may work!)
Friends and Fiends on Capitol Hill | MB26

Posted on 05/10/2008 11:06:48 AM PDT by MindBender26

I have been working with clients in DC the last few days and as always, rumors, gossip and backstabbing are three of the main products produced within the District. This is the latest rumor/suspicion/supposed plan here in the Capitol. Word of it comes from some well-placed sources. They are in a position to know this information and they have been reliable sources in the past.

Story is as follows… Hillary is many things, but she is no fool. She realizes 2012 was never an option for her, as she will be 65 and “used.” Any afterglow of Clinton 42 will have long ago worn off. The idea of her being the Vice Presidential candidate is an absolute non-starter. She doesn’t want to be second to anyone, it’s a usually a political graveyard and finally, Obama has zero desire to have someone in the number two spot who would spend four years trying to outshine him.

The “Hillary for VP” stories are much like the “Charlie Crist for Republican VP” stories; pure MSM time-filling hokum.

So, she wins big or she loses big in the next three weeks, (including $10,000,000+ of her own money she loaned to her campaign), and she knows it. She must stop the Super Delegate defections NOW to have any hope of even being on life support at the convention.

So who can help her win big? Big time Dems say; “Ask the key question; what Dems don’t want Obama to be president?”

The strange and quiet reality is that Obama’s two biggest Democratic enemies right now, after Hillary and Bill, are Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton! White American have elevated Jackson and Sharpton to be the two Black national heavy hitters for decades, but if Obama is nominated, they would be quickly superseded by the first Black major party-nominated presidential candidate in history, the supposedly messianic Barack Obama!

All of a sudden, the man Jackson and Sharpton consider an unworthy upstart would be seen as the one national Black leader. Jessie and Al would be reduced to also-rans! Chicago-based Jackson and New York-based Sharpton are very competitive and hate each other. Jackson’s pregnant girlfriend deserting him to work for Sharpton was the final insult, but in the face of a new challenge, they will work together to secure their positions.

Loss of their status would cost them millions of dollars a year they get in “shakedown” money from American companies. But they fear something even worse happening to them; an Obama victory in the general election in November!

An Obama win in the General would be disastrous for Jackson and Sharpton! Not only would they lose their status as the most powerful Black leaders, but the entire financial foundation of their empires would be destroyed.

Jackson and Sharpton exist on one basic foundational lie they repeat again and again: Black America can’t get ahead because Blacks are kept down by the White Man! (“…. so give us money and we won’t make any trouble for you, while you assuage your White Guilt.”)

But if on January 20, 2009, the “White Man” is replaced by a Black man, there goes not only their stature but their entire financial foundation! Their excuses would leave town faster than Bill chasing a plump cheerleader! Jackson’s and Sharpton’s organizations continue to exist only on the condition that America’s racial problems never get resolved! With a Black man in the White House they lose most of their excuses.

If Obama won, not only would they lose their status, but their incomes as well!

Move back to current situation. The Dem political professionals, not the elected officials but the old line Democrat party pros, know Obama can’t be elected. They know that Dems might have forgotten/forgiven The Un-Rev Wright, but the Soccer Moms and swing voters will flee in droves when Republican-leaning 527s repeat Wright’s “sermons” again and again as we get close to the November general.

But the Dem leadership is afraid to make any move that might deny Obama the nomination because they fear millions of Black Dems would desert the party in protest. That could cost them the Presidential election, plus key House and Senate races.

So, what plan serves the needs of everyone listed above?

According to sources, Clinton operatives are clandestinely talking to Jackson and Sharpton people. If Jackson and Sharpton promise to work to keep the Black vote with the Dems if Hillary is given the nomination, then the Dem party pros can get that word to the Super Delegates. Then the Supers will not be afraid of losing the Black vote when they move their selection to Hillary, who they correctly see as much more electable.

One source claims they even heard Jackson lieutenants working up a speech for Jackson to make at the Dem convention when Obama loses, something like “It may not be This Time…. But it will be in Our Time. It may not be This Man…. but it will be Our Man… and Our Plan… in Our Time!” (For the full effect, add some Jacksonian cadence when you read that aloud.)

Sharpton’s arguments would be centered along the line “As tens of millions of oppressed people of color, our cause is bigger than any one man. 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue may not become the Black House next January, but we must still all work together to advance our cause of true liberation and financial empowerment. The White Republican power structure wants us to be dispirited and again downtrodden because of this but we will rise again to overcome their oppression and intolerance……” (Add your own finger waiving emphasis and you will see how well it plays for their audience.)

With Jackson and Sharpton leading such a “reconciliation” campaign, second tier Black leaders would quickly see the handwriting on the wall and fall into line. Sunday morning sermons in Black churches would urge “seeing beyond… and moving beyond this temporary setback, as we have for 300 years since we were brought to America in chains….” (pronounced “cha-haynes”)

The bottom line is that the Black vote would downtrend for about 10 days, and then quickly rally around Hilary. The Black vote would be what it always is, 90+% Dem, with the casting of multiple votes in multiple precincts by one person common as it often is.

Of course, Jackson and Sharpton will demand huge payoffs to do this, and they will get them, and even bigger rewards from Hillary if she wins. For Sharpton, the obvious immediate payoff would be an end to the IRS and New York State investigation of him and his organization, as well as an abatement on the more than $1,600,000 owed to the government in taxes and penalties. Much of that is owed to the State of New York, not the Feds, but NY Gov. Patterson would certainly play along to help Hillary and strengthen his street creds among the professional civil rights agitators in New York he needs to stay in office.

Some DNC types are running this past some Supers tonight. Jackson and Sharpton see this as a very winning strategy. They become the saviors of Hillary’s campaign, as opposed to losing so much if Obama gets the nomination.... and of course, they both see themselves as Saviors!

At this point, I doubt it.

More likely scenario:

Hillary bows out around June 15. She then focuses on hurting Obama and indrectly helping McCain win in November, to destroy Barack and put herself right in line to run in 2012 - I don’t think that her age at 65 or anything will stop her.

She’s calculating enough to know that a plan like shown above is VERY risky at this point, and if it backfired, it would backfire BIG TIME.

It seems to me that Obama's supporters are more united than anything I've seen from the McCain camp, so I'm not sure the contention that he can't be elected is absolutely true.

It's much like predicting a win in a football game - case in point: check the Appalachian State - Michigan score.

Interesting story, and they’re sticking to it, or at least considering sticking it to Obama. If both Jackson and Sharpton endorse and heavily talk-up Hillo at the convention, heal the party, and endorse Obama as VP, that may do it for Hillary. Smart ploy.

The talk of an Obama-Strickland ticket worries me though, and it may look like a winner to the old Demv pols. And right now there mayt be too many heavy hitters on Obama’s team (Jimmy Carter, Teddy and his crew, etc.) for the Jackson and Sharpton plan to work.

Sorry, Hillary wins or is toast. More than anyone else, she knows that.

For her to win in 2012, she would need an unpopular president and more than that, she would need America and the MSM to be “excited” about her again, and no one is ever excited about 4 year old milk, cheese, meat or political also-rans.

That scenario seems to be a stretch. I see Hillary going all the way to a roll call vote and if she loses it, makes a speech about the hopes and aspirations of women and then a luke warm endorsement of Obama. After that, she and Bill disappear for two months. When the damaged Obama gets creamed in the General, she will reappear with a few public speeches that will imply “I told you so”.

If Hillary was serious about 2012, she would have bowed out gracefully months ago and given Obama tepid support through the election hoping for a blow out win for McCain. A big loss in November would knock Obama out of the party's power structure and setting her up for being the nominee in 2012.

By going all out for the nomination by whatever means necessary she is burning all her bridges and if she ultimately looses the nomination to Obama she will just be the junior Senator from New York.

Anything’s possible. Like the Nation of Islam assassinated Malcom X, I can see civil rights activists Jackson and Sharpton “assassinating” Obama as a candidate.

On the other hand, I wouldn’t put it past Jackson and Sharpton to be secretly making deals with Obama’s camp, too. So they’re golden no matter who wins.

One source claims they even heard Jackson lieutenants working up a speech for Jackson to make at the Dem convention when Obama loses, something like “It may not be This Time…. But it will be in Our Time. It may not be This Man…. but it will be Our Man… and Our Plan… in Our Time!”

The scenario does seem to be a stretch, but these phrases in a speech sound likely. You know Jackson & Sharpton must be working on their own angle in this whole mess, because it will be hard to maintain their influence with Obama in the White House. (I gag at even writing those last few words.)

Hillary should run for Mayor of New York City in 2009 if she is not able to steal the nod from Obama. I could care less what she does, but it would be amusing to watch her run the second most liberal city in America. Most liberals, unions and Spanish would support her, but most Blacks would absolutely not. Hillary would probably win in the end, but she would face a lot criticism.

If Obama won, not only would they lose their status, but their incomes as well! .....[but]..... The...old line Democrat party pros know Obama can’t be elected.

This argument, seems to be internally inconsistent.

If Obama is obviously unelectable, and Hillary is a hot potato, then all Jackson/Sharpton have to do is coast and they retain power.

1) Obama gets the nom, and loses bigtime in the general.

2) Hill gets the nod, and they've kept their powder dry & continue biz as usual under either Clinton or McPain.

If the 'Dem part pros' are wrong, and Obama does get elected, then there's nothing Jack-ton can do now for either one that'll save em.

Interesting. A couple of months ago, comic Wanda Sykes joked to Jay Leno that if Obama got elected, it would be a disaster for black people who like to complain that they can’t get ahead because of racism. They’d say, “How can I make it in a country where a black man can’t get elected...uuuuuuuh.....The Man is keepin’ me down! Oh, shoot, the Man is black now...” Sounds like the same scenario, only serious.

The candidacy of Obama seems to have a certain inevitability.

Wait until the whisper campaign begins about McCain being crazy and just too old for the job. He’s going to be portrayed as to be to the right of Bush. I wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t get “swift-boated” relating to conduct as a POW, etc.

Better hope for Jimmy Carter black and that he gets one term and a great conservative leader comes out in 2012.

Otherwise, the US will become just like California and have an insurmountable Democratic majority (Like FDR did)

I mean as long as we’re cooking up Rube Goldberg schemes to get her in the White House, this is about as plausible for a Clinton as the one in the article.

This scenario, and Rev. Wright's recent behavior towards Obama, seems to me to be nothing more than the Washington DC version of street punks killing the promising black high school student/athlete who's trying to elevate his (and his family's) place in life.

It's sad to see people who preach improving one's life be a part of tearing down the one's who outreach them, out of envy and jealousy, and then complaining that African-Americans can't advance.

There are a few points here I don’t agree with. First, the election of a black POTUS will in no way end the race pimping business. Second, the black vote won’t come back to Hillary in the numbers discussed. And for every dedicated Dim voter than stays home, that’s like three votes that Hillary won’t get.

  2. Obama wants to be the candidate of change. The last thing he needs is same-old standing next to him.
  3. If he were to win, Hill and Bill would be a constant irritant.

“Hillary turns 61 in October, 65 by the 2012 election. If she can’t destroy Obambi soon so that he gets the nomination, she will sabotage any chance he has in November - even if she’s his VP pick. That’s so she can be the nominee for 2012, against a 76 year old McCain who may not even run after one term.

She stands little chance of grabbing the nomination from an incumbent Obambi. 2016, she’s too old. 2012 is her last shot. So she’ll submarine Obambi, then go back to the Senate where she’ll torpedo Harry Reid so she can be Majority Leader. Teaming up with Pelosi Galore - two women in charge of Congress, women on top! - she’s in an ideal position for a run for the 2012 roses.”

It sounds correct.

It will be payback time from the Clintons to those other two crooks.

Wouldn’t it be fun if the Clintons (yes, plural) won and the Clintons reneged on their promises to these two crooks? It would not be the first time or last.

“How can I make it in a country where a black man can’t get elected...uuuuuuuh.....The Man is keepin’ me down! Oh, shoot, the Man is black now...” Sounds like the same scenario, only serious.

Shoul BHO become POTUS and assume the role as THE MAN, expect the race pimps to start accentuate the other side of his linage by referring to him as Barry White.
