Round 1 is mostly positioning - I don't think there's been a wire-to-wire winner since Ray Floyd in 1976. You don't want to shoot yourself out of the tournament on Day 1.
That said I'm sure any of these guys would take a 63 and run like a thief!

Absolutely, Tiger has never broken 70 on the first day. You can’t win the tournament on Thursday but you can lose it.

Fifteen players at -1! What a logjam. Will it be like this Sunday afternoon? 15 tied for the lead on Sunday and say another 15 one back would be thrilling. The players would be a bundle of nerves.

Zach Johnson birdied 11 and missed an ace on 12 by about 1 inch. He has a 6 inch putt for birdie there to go to -3. Tiger still Even through 10.
