Perhaps that will be the reason for the forthcoming opus?
It seems like there ought to be a technical solution to make it easier for everyone, like an easy way for the moderators to maintain a database of excerpt-and-link-only URLs, in combination with a URL scanning routine in the posting code to find those URLs and notify the poster. The coding would not be difficult for handling most cases.

Just a guess, but after looking at the 4/3 toons page; too many sources are getting their panties in a wad over linking in their toons, and the mods are removing them.

Some forums do not allow any political cartoons posted as images to avoid the copyright issues.

I’m in the midst of FReepmailing everyone on my ping list (550) that I’ll no longer be posting the toons (here), but will remain a FReeper unless they have other ideas.
