Obama Camp Wants McCain to Denounce Rep. for Saying Terrorists Will Rejoice for Him
FOXNews.com ^ | Saturday, March 8, 2008

Barack Obama’s campaign wants John McCain to denounce Iowa Rep. Steve King’s claims to a local newspaper that terrorists would be “dancing in the streets” if Obama is elected president.

“The radical Islamists, the Al Qaeda … would be dancing in the streets in greater numbers than they did on Sept. 11 because they would declare victory in this war on terror,” King said.

And McCain will do it too, wouldn’t want to upset his “good friend.”

McCain should say “ I don’t apologize for other people’s statements. It’s a sign of weakness. As President, you need to grow a pair.”

That is exactly what he should do. He should point out that they should not be wasting their time denouncing on demand the comments of everyone else in the world. This has gotten silly.

He shouldn’t apologize, he should say he “rejects and denounces the Congressman’s comments.”

This is fun. Let’s see how many supporters McCain can denounce in the course of one election. I’m sure all of his supporters will deserve to be denounced for something.

(Although "Representative King cannot state as a fact where terrorists would be dancing if Senator Obama is elected president." is tempting )

Why should he reject and denounce the congressman's comments? He can argue the point, he agrees or disagrees with the point at hand....but to reject and denounce a person is far stronger, and it is anti-First Amendment.

McCain should just be honest and call for a repeal of the First Amendment.

“Freedom of Speech; Rep King can say whatever he wants and it should not reflect on McCain.”

There is so much wrong with that statement that I hardly know where to begin, but lets give it a shot, shall we?

1. McBoob despises free speech, see McCain/Feingold

2. If your premise was accurate, John Hagee would not have been thrown under the bus.

He should, but he won't. He's already set a precedent by doing so.

I bet he apologizes.

Its true. They will rejoice for at least two reasons

1. Obama is a weak-kneed panderer.

2. Obama’s name. Even though he is a Christian it doesn’t matter. Ignorant muslims will think he is one of theirs.

Steve King is a great representative, and he is right on the money with his comment.

John McCain needs to tell the Obama crew that this is a presidential race and not a contest for hall monitor, that Rep. King is right on, and that the Obama camp should shut up and quit whining.

Interesting technique- ask McCain to denounce anyone who critiques Obama during the Presdintial campaign

Unfortunately McCain set himself up for this by apologizing for the comments of the talk show host (Bill Cunningham) who prepped the crowd for his Ohio rally

McCain is gonna look like a real fool if he responds to an Obamae demand for yet another apology for what other people think and say about Obama.

But then the mastermind of McCain Feingold Law has amply shown he thinks other people will like him if he makes free speech, not free

Sleazy, isn't it?

Sleazy unless you want it because someone dares to criticize the official Catholic religion? Hagee I mean. Notice that lord McCain refused to denounce Hagee until after the Texas primary. He got what he wanted from him and then stabbed him. Meanwhile, I'm going to make a list of all the Catholic leaders who have offended me and need repudiation from all our politicians.

Since when is McCain responsible for what OTHERS say on their OWN time?

The BO camp is testing McCain, seeing how far they can push the McCain proclaimed "no-attack-zone".

If McNut apologizes for King's statements, the BO camp will have him apologizing for slavery, segregation, global warming, AIDS, war, famine, poverty, ugly girls, flatulence, Rush, flat beer, fish ain't biting, etc. He'll be so busy apologizing that he won't be able to campaign.

He'll be their little McPuppet.
