Those crazy kids and their “rock and roll”. They will calm down when they grow up.

"Meanwhile, I just go 'Thank God I'm awake' and wait for three or four hours before I do anything. He is a power freak and there's nothing we can do about it. I don't want to do anything about it. Let him bugger about. It doesn't make any difference to what we do." The reason you can lay in bed for half a day is because Mick Jagger has hustle and keeps his head on straight. Lots of talented drug abusers die young, Mr. Richards. You ought to thank God for Mick Jagger.

Well, Keith does say drugs really aren’t worth it.

Richard’s brains have been fried for at least a decade.

Well, Keith does say drugs really arent worth it.I'd wager he wouldn't have lived long enough to say it had not Jagger kept him gainfully employed.

"Meanwhile, I just go 'Thank God I'm awake' and wait for three or four hours before I do anything Amazing ehhhh? That ol' Keef is able to wake up every day and still play that Rock n Rool'ish giiitar, while roaches and rats are still sleeping ...... /chuckle
To: RDTF
Seems like they got the interview with Keith AFTER the first morning batch of drugs....
To: Rocko
Yeah after he’s snorted a pharmacy’s worth....
Kinda like if Ron Jeremy or John Holmes made a PSA telling kids not to have sex....
To: RDTF
All kidding aside, I read an interview in RS a few years ago and they asked Keef, what would you have done if the Stones had not been successful? The gist of the reply was that the success in its self was only secondary. If the Stones had not been successfull, he still would have kept playing. Whether in the basement, the local club, or what ever, you play because it’s in your blood.

I never really regarded what Keith was doing as ‘playing the guitar’...thought it was more like ‘trying not to fall down’...
