Former Seattle planning department head John Rahaim's boyfriend allegedly vandalized an historic publicly-owned mansion in San Francisco -- and set fire to a bed there, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

This is the FORMER Seattle planner, John Rahaim, NOW S.F.Planning Department Director.

From the ref'd Chronicle piece: "This is a difficult time for John Rahaim, and the mayor is fully supportive of him," Newsom's spokesman Nathan Ballard said Saturday. "There's broad consensus that John Rahaim is doing a good job as planning director, and this incident has nothing to do with his on-the-job performance. It's a personal matter."
