I'm voting for Ronald Wilson Reagan

Posted on 02/01/2008 9:22:46 AM PST by rightandproudofit

If McCain is the Republican candidate, I'm writing in Ronald Wilson Reagan as my vote in 2008.

Since I was too young to vote in 1980, and can't rationalize voting for McCain in 2008, I'm going to make it up to the Gipper in 2008 instead. At least that way I can live with myself.

Reagan in 2008: The only conservative choice left to us.

You might be on to something here. Maybe if enough people write in Reagan’s name, it’ll cause enough publicity that it makes the GOP take notice why RINOs are not acceptable.

Why not write in someone actually living, i.e. someone who is Constitutionally qualified to hold the office?

Surely you must see the irony, a dead former president is more qualified than a living McCain. Think of it, Reagan showing up in the elections results. Wouldn’t it be beautiful?

Why not just write in George Washington?

What would be worse .... MaCain as president or Obama/Clinton?

Don't vote for the Dems by not voting for the Repub candidate.

McCain *may* be worse than Hillary Clinton.

For me the running mate will make a major impact. I'm uneasy with McCain's temperament and mental health. He's also quite old (older than RWR in 1980).

If he picks a "compassionate conservative" or "Christian lefty" I can't see much to recommend the ticket.

Writing in Reagan is one possibility. I've often said, even passed away, Reagan is a better president than W.

Good point. To take that a step further, he'd still be better than most at this point.

I am going to write in “The Flying Spaghetti Monster”, then lock my door and plug my ears up for 8 years. To make some sort of point.

Since apparently no one in the world is meeting the definition of acceptible Conservative, write in your own name.
