Today's New York Post Page Six gossip column offers readers the following prima facie risible item:
HUMA Abedin, the traveling aide who is rarely out of Hillary Rodham Clinton's sight, has been seen with bachelor Rep. Anthony Weiner on the campaign trail. Shortly before Clinton arrived for a fund-raiser Thursday night at the Hiro club in the Meatpacking District, Abedin was spotted going into the Maritime Hotel around the corner with Weiner. If they were trying to keep their affair a secret, you'd think they'd find someplace where political reporters wouldn't be walking by.
"If they were trying to keep their affair a secret..." Huh? To begin with, how likely is it that these two politicos are having an affair? Moreover, neither of them is a moron, so if they're trotting around together in public, almost parading themselves in front of political reporters, you can be certain that there's a good reason for it, a very good reason.
My guess is that if anybody's abeddin' Huma Abedin, there's almost certainly no Weiner involved...
And besides, Anthony Weiner is not just a bachelor...he's a 44-year-old "confirmed" bachelor. Here's a recent photo:
One is reminded of the following dialogue from Seinfeld, Episode 57, "The Outing":
Jerry: "Y'know I hear that all the time." Elaine: "Hear what?"
Jerry: "That I'm gay. People think I'm gay." Elaine: "Yeah, you know people ask me that about you, too."
Jerry: "Yeah, 'cuz I'm single, I'm thin and I'm neat." Elaine: "And you get along well with women."
Not that there's anything wrong with that...

I have heard the loud and peristent rumours about Huma and Hillary.
Power really is an aphrodisiac. Why any self-respecting person, male or female, would sleep with Hillary is astounding!
Going by Weiner’s FEC records and the paucity of 2007 donations, I wonder if Ms. Abedin was finagling to buy Weiner’s endorsement of Hillie...

“This notion that Senator Clinton is a cool customer—I mean, I don’t dispute it, but the coolest customer in that whole operation is Huma,” said the Congressman, who watched Ms. Abedin in action earlier this month at the internationally covered march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Ala.
Crossing the bridge was a logistical minefield: huge crowds to navigate, innumerable V.I.P.’s—including former President Clinton—to hand-hold, countless photo ops to facilitate and a strict timetable to keep. “There were a hundred things that could have gone wrong,” Mr. Weiner recalled. “And Huma was sort of the all-purpose trouble-shooter of first response. It was a tour de force, and what was most impressive is that she maintained a level head the whole time.”
He added: “In fact, I think there’s some dispute as to whether Huma’s actually human or not.”

However, Why a Saudi raised Muslim, daughter of prominent Muslims = father now deceased, mother prominent job in Saudi Arabia, a country not known for elevating a lot of women - would 'sleep with the enemy' who has access to state secrets - and has the possibility to slither into the Oval Office with TOTAL access...is an age old scenario...

Is there any modern phrase that didn’t come from Seinfeld or Larry David’s brain. these guys are huge in the annals of literature whatever you want to call it. They are the Shakespeare’s of our time. “Not that there’s anything wrong with that” is the biggest Jerryism that I can think became a permanent part of the language. Someone else have one?
