Amy Winehouse appeared wild-eyed and dishevelled in court yesterday when she came to support her jailed husband Blake Fielder-Civil.
The singer only arrived for the last 10 minutes of the hour-long preliminary hearing when her husband appeared on charges of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice at Snaresbrook Crown Court.
Any rift between the troubled star and her mother-in-law Georgette seemed to have been put aside as the pair sat together whispering and holding hands in the public gallery.
She wore a grubby knee-length cream denim skirt and crumpled Fred Perry polo shirt with dishevelled blonde hair.
On arrival she winked and blew a kiss at former music video assistant Fielder-Civil who stood in the dock with four other men on associated charges.
As her husband was led back into custody she interrupted court proceedings to shout: 'Love you handsome. Gorgeous one.'
She then rounded on reporters sitting in court and yelled: 'I wasn't talking to you.'
She and her mother-in-law left court arm in arm and kissed goodbye as Winehouse stepped into a silver BMW. Fielder-Civil is charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and with conspiring to pervert the course of justice.
Last summer he and Michael Brown allegedly assaulted the landlord of a pub in Soho, James King.
Both men are then accused of trying to bribe the victim not to testify and offering hundreds of thousands of pounds for him to move abroad.
Despite being a victim in the original assault, Mr King also appeared in the dock yesterday on charges of conspiring to pervert the course of justice. Two other men - Anthony Kelly and James Kennedy - were also present on similar charges.
Kelly, Fielder-Civil and Brown smiled and chatted as they sat in the dock during proceedings. Brown, Kelly and King pleaded not guilty to pervert the course of justice while Fielder-Civil's defence, Jeremy Dean QC, opted to delay making a plea.
Mr Dean indicated in court, however, that his client 'would plead not guilty' at a later date and said it was possible his counsel may attempt to dismiss the charges all together.
Another preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 15 and the trial, focusing on perverting the course of justice charges for all five men, is scheduled for June 2, 2008
