It's a big, pastel mess across the United States of America. Where's global warming when you really need it?

It’s a little breezy this morning in S. Florida, but we had breakfast with the dog at a little outdoor restaurant off the beach and will probably do some shopping later. Suddenly I’m not missing winter weather!

We just had our first band of heavy snow move through Sountern Michigan. It came through so fast that it didn’t leave much. We’ve got a winter storm warning from 10PM tonight till 7PM sunday.

I think we need Algore to fly in private jets over the state of maine, and drop a carbon footprint so we can have some of that global warming. It’s like the middle of january here.

I hear ya.
They expect from 1 to 2 FEET of snow across most of upstate New York.
I still have to put the carb back on my plow truck and it’s only 14 degrees outside right now. (shudder)
I’m hoping the 28 degree (heatwave) hits soon because I have to work on the truck in the middle of my field.

Wife canceled her trip abroad.
I laid in some munchies, and will soon be gathering some firewood.
Dinner out tonight before the snow/rain/sleet/hail/wind begins.
Tomorrow: Fire in the fireplace, football on TV, some munchies, diet soda, and dreading going out into the slush Monday morning.
All in all, a pretty good weekend on tap!
Enjoy, and be careful out there!

That’s kind of a cool idea.
I don’t really like ice, it’s slippery and I’m old.
I like snow, especially if I can look at it. :)

Yup, 10 below (wind chill) in my part of Maine. Christmas music’s playing, and we’re trimming the Tree today. Christmas movies during the storm tomorrow and homemade spaghetti!! Hey, there’s a blue jay!

I’m actually hoping for the rain and highwinds to start earlier than expected — I’m really not up to standing in the cold for a couple hours tonight watching a Christmas parade.

Yup, break out the woolies. I’m more worried about the ice. If we lose power I’ll never hear the end of it ;) The Big Mew’s been jonesing for a generator, while I’ve been thinking we should get a snowblower. Of course neither of us have done anything about getting one or the other, and I’ll bet you can’t find either at the moment.

Couple of inches of snow already on the ground. Horses are in the barn, dogs and cats in their houses. Fire going. Probably make a big pot of Beef Vegetable soup and some homemade bread in a bit. Let it snow...
Hardest choice...Earl Grey or Bud Light?

It looks like I'll be shoveling about a foot-and-a-half of "Global Warming" off of my driveway tomorrow.
People here in Indiana are buying up egss, milk, and bread at the stores.
Apparently we all make french toast when the weather turns bad.

We are expecting a major cold front coming through Sunday. Will have to dust cobwebs off the Franklin stove. Lows to 44º. Don’t you just love the NOAA cold weather statements for Florida when they tell us to wear sweaters?

I am in Indianapolis and I tell you it is not going to happen. My guess is 5-6 max with the evening sleet and rain taking away much of the moisture needed for that 17 in number

“The Big Mews been jonesing for a generator”
We had a major ice storm a few years back and I picked up a generator because the power wasn’t restored for over a week.
Just big enough to run the furnace, a few lights and a T.V.
5 gallons of gas every 19 hours. Of course with todays prices, 5 gallons every 19 hours for a week would get pretty expensive.
“and Ill bet you cant find either at the moment.’
Got mine a Lowes during the height of the storm. They are probably still available right now, but don’t wait until the powers out.

I’d like to know that myself. It’s 9:50 on a sunny morning here in Northern Colorado and it’s already warmed up to a blistering 12 degrees. It was 5 when I got up to let the dogs out.

Here in Richmond,VA they are calling for rain with a high and low of 38F today. Kind of dreary but the shovel stays in the garage. Three years ago I bought a snow blower. It’s never blown the first flake of snow. All you folks in the mid-atlantic region...You’re welcome.

I was stuck along with hundreds of thousands of other commuters in a hellish 6-hour commute on Thursday when 10 inches of global warming fell in a matter of five hours. With all that idling in gridlock in blizzard conditions and then having to fire up the snowblowers when we all got home, we are going to have a hard time paying off all our carbon offsets.

We had a fire going in the woodstove in the living room, but it got so hot up here in our "attic" office that I actually went and put a pair of shorts on and openned the windows.
