The reasons I found this movie adaptation so awful, can be gleaned by reading Wikipedia article on Richard Matheson's, I am Legend. The book ROCKED!
BTW - Wikipedia state that plot spoilers are in the article, I did not see them.
I think they just found 76 and a half million other reasons to make this version. Biggest December opener ever.

I'm thinking Will Smith is definitely a Republican. He is self sufficient, believes in the 2nd amendment, and is not sitting on his ass waiting for the government to solve his problems.
