Introducing....the corporate duck protection squad! Armed with powerful weapons, these officers will patrol the lobbies of hotels everywhere, and protect innocent ducks from unwarranted assaults by drunken patrons.

“a hotel security guard and others watched, police said.”
I think the hotel should can the “guard,” also.

"I think Embassy Suites needs to take another look at this and review how they keep ducks safe, or use fish like most hotels would use," Shields said. Er.. no.
Instead, hotel guests should use basic guest etiquette and refrain from ripping heads off live animals.

Yesterday my father asked if I wanted to choke his chicken. He has a stuffed chicken that clucks and squirms around if you squeeze it’s neck.
Dad is “unusual”. Down south I think they would call him “special”.

A couple of local talk show yutz’s were discussing this, this AM. They decided that this was no worse than people like me who duck hunt in the fall. They decided that this “gentleman” was well within his rights.

A couple of local talk show yutzs were discussing this, this AM. They decided that this was no worse than people like me who duck hunt in the fall. They decided that this gentleman was well within his rights. Wrong, it was a tame duck and therefore personal property. The man needs some serious help!

Instead, hotel guests should use basic guest etiquette and refrain from ripping heads off live animals. Darn straight.
Kill the little darlings first, then rip off their little heads.

The whole quote is even better
Tim Shields, general counsel with the Minnesota Federated Humane Societies. Shields said the incident was "unconscionable," and that having live ducks in a hotel lobby puts them at risk of being stepped on or run over by suitcases.
Especially if the suitcase is camaflaged in crocodile skin

Release the perp on his own recognizance, and send him to New York City as one of the official ‘greeters’ for Iranian Lil Fuehrer Ahmadinejad.
Be sure to tell Ahmadinejad that it is an American customary welcome gesture to quack like a duck when meeting average Americans for the first time.

There is a difference between cruelty and hunting.
There is also a difference between killing a pet, while traumatizing bystanders, and shooting wild game with other hunters.

Yes, I do suppose that would be proper. titter Emily Post covers that very thoroughly.
I believe it's in chapter four, "Duck Etiquette."
I consulted it before constructing my homepage.
:-D

Especially if the suitcase is camaflaged in crocodile skinOh, the irony.
;-)
If I were walking through a hotel lobby with live ducks waddling around, it wouldn't be the ducks I'd be worried about stepping on.
