Been there, done that! Trust me: it hurts even if you’re a girl.

From article (poor thing!):
“The family recently moved to Florida from Columbus, Ohio, and her parents said she hasn’t made any new friends yet, an Associated Press report said.”

Bless her little heart. (and I don’t mean it in that in an offhanded way)
Children soak in the environment around them. The poor little sweetie was scared to death, and I would bet the chocolate chip cookie in my death-like grip that she had absorbed this alarmism from the media.
May I eat my cookie now?

I was just going to ask “why ohio” and then I saw your post.
Hope she is feeling better, moving at that age is rough without seeing “we are all going to die” type stories about your new home on the news.

Just don’t get any crumbs in your keyboard.
I think you’re on to something when you say she absorbed most of that fear from the hype the media adds to their coverage of tragic stories. She probably figured she’d end up in some sports arena with fifty thousand others and probably never get out alive.
Watching the evening news is not healthy for an eight year old. Hell, it ain’t healthy for me!

Thanks. Now I’m going to have nightmares tonight and I’ll probably ride my bike as fast as I can to Montana tomorrow.

Just wait till she hears about global warming. Maybe she’ll build a spaceship!

HAHAHA! Howz 'bout a small, inexpensive upgrade? The USCG may require a registration name "DON'T PANIC!!!"
