It looks to me (puts on amateur psychologist hat) as if the little girl isn't being allowed to develop a personality or identity.

A typical child of 4 would not stand still, draped in bizarre clothing, with a blank expression. (A boy would start fighting a war; a girl would be screaming, "I want a princess costume, not THIS!").
