In jail serving out the remainder of her sentence for violating parole on reckless driving charges, Paris Hilton phoned ABC News' Barbara Walters Sunday to discuss her state of mind, her experience in prison and how she feels she has changed.
Barbara Walters will discuss more of her conversation with Paris Hilton on "The View" at 11 a.m. ET.
Hilton said jail and the chaos surrounding her sentence have made her realize she must clean up her act.
"I used to act dumb," she told Walters in the exclusive phone conversation. "That act is no longer cute. Now, I would like to make a difference. ... God has given me this new chance."

“Mr. President. Given the number of US soldier deaths in Iraq, and the deteriorating situation in Iran, the fact that North Korea continues on its path of becoming a nuclear power, the destabilizing situation regarding Putin’s decision to rekindle a ballistic missile program, and the risk of a possible interest rate increase coming from the Fed that would be very damaging to an already shaky US mortgage market, Mr. President, I have just one question for you: What’s the latest on Paris Hilton?”
"There is hope
Don't ever accuse Wolf Blitzer, anchor of CNN's "The Situation Room," of being ensnared in the paparazzi-fed hype and infatuation over Paris Hilton.
During his daily production meeting on Friday -- the same day that the young California socialite was "taken handcuffed and crying from her home," "escorted into court disheveled, without makeup, hair askew and face red with tears," "crying out for her mother when she was ordered back to jail," a "little girl lost in a merciless legal system" -- Mr. Blitzer vowed that during that afternoon's entire news program, he would not bring himself to utter two words: Paris Hilton.
"And he didn't," a CNN producer tells Inside the Beltway.

Everyone who thought the girl had no talent must be feeling foolish now.
OMG I think you may be on to something.
Do other inmates get to make calls to the media from jail?

Guess who made the initial call? And then guess who got on the line.
In a cage and a horrible experience....hmm, isn't that pretty much the definition of jail?
From Boohoo Wahwah to Baba Wahwah.
“Do other inmates get to make calls to the media from jail?”
Counselor, you of all people, should know that one can call anyone they like from the jail payphone as long as the call is collect.
Of course, I don’t know this from personal experience. LOL

Are you going to do any reporting from The View?
Shepard Smith was openly laughing at the coverage...it was great!
That big, blinking text was meant to indicate that I’m being sarcastic about what I said.
I thought so but had to check. I fear Paris’ first stop after jail will be The View.
:-)
Thanks sarasota. I appreciate the ping.
It’s easy to make such vows when you’re imprisoned but a lot harder to keep them when you’re back in familiar surroundings. I will keep praying for her and pray she finds a good church fellowship to help her in keeping those promises she’s made to herself.
Actually, I don’t know anything about the criminal side of things. I’ve never done any criminal law.
