I have thought about this a few days. This needs prayers. Last week here in Boston something terrible happened. A young 14 year old girl was here for treatment from the Dominican Republic. She was here with her Mother staying long term in a hotel room provided by a medical research facility. They know no one here other than the people they have seen for treatment.
This girl is burned badly. She doesn't speak English. Last Wed night she and her Mother went to bed in thier room.
Thursday morning this poor child of God woke up to find her mother had passed away in the night. Natural causes from what I understand.
This child woke up suddenly and shockingly more alone in the world than most of us have any idea of or will ever know. Only Our Lord on the Cross knows such loneliness. Or Mother Mary seeing her own killed on the cross.
There was another girl from the same city but they had not known each other before this.
THE KID WAS ALONE! Alone in a foriegn land. And now motherless.
I know the person who helped and who was Christ for this child who she did not know. This person made the emts take her to a special burn hospital for counseling. It was not in their job format and they refused but my friend in Christ fought with them and made them take this child for help. A tough devout Irish Catholic woman trying to get this child layed before the feet of Jesus. (She is someone you never want to be on the wrong side of...ever! She walks with the Lord.)She had had to spend about two hours in a room with the police with the child's mother's body....a terrible strain on anyone. But she layed it down for the Lord. She put herself out there and got it done. She got professional comfort for this child. The child and this woman need your prayers.
The girls name is Hillary. The woman is Diane.
If anyone has complained to me since thurs I have said "Let me give you some perspective..." and told the story of this poor child. I thank God that they got a translator real quick and that they were able to get the girl's father on the phone.
May God be with them and thier families both. May Mother Mary hold this child close and wipe away any terrible emotions of fear, sudden abandonment or anything that saddens this young girl's heart. May Jesus comfort Diane. May the Holy Spirit be sent to for conversions to the faith so that good comes from such tragedy.
Lastly. I strongly pray that this girls never feels or construes any kind of guilt for these natural events or shame for her bodily burns. May she know soon again laughter , smiles, love and family. I pray that Jesus guides her, her mind and being into a great, wonderous, full and joyful adulthood. May her soul be a strong one!
Men please pray for these. Ladies...start your engines!

My heart goes out to this little girl. How horrible and lonely she must feel! Prayers that all around her are welcoming and comforting. Especially, may the Holy Mother of God comfort her as only a mother can, and may her Guardian Angel keep special watch over her in these trying times.

O God, the Friend of mankind, our help in time of need, Who are just and merciful, and Who inclines to the supplications of His people, look down upon Your servants Hillary and Diane and have mercy on them and deliver them from the trouble that now besets them. Deal with us not according to our iniquities, but according to Your manifold mercies, for we are the works of Your hands, and You know our weaknesses. We pray to you to grant Your servants Your divine helping grace, and endow them with patience and strength to endure their hardships with complete submission to Your Will. Only You know their misery and sufferings, and to You, their only hope and refuge, they flee for relief and comfort, trusting in Your infinite love and compassion, that in due time, when You know best, You will deliver them from this trouble, and turn their distress into comfort. They then shall rejoice in Your mercy, and exalt and praise Your Holy Name, O Father, Son and Holy Spirit, both now and forever and to the ages of ages. Amen

How sad! It makes me want to give her a hug and reassure her but I don’t know if I’d have the words. Prayers for this poor child and all of those throughout the world who have been exposed to such pain, may they find peace through Christ.

How we thank You, O Lord, that You have placed Diane in the life of Hillary ... that she is willing to take up the mantle of her mother to help and protect in her time of need. Guard her young heart as she grieves her loss ... may she be able to continue the treatment that has meant so much to her and her family. Bring forth others who will stay at her side ... who will minister with hope and love and who will sustain Diane in the days ahead. Comfort Hillary’s father and family through the Power of the God of All Comfort, that even in the midst of tragedy, they will know Your eternal love.
