Let's put this under the category of "all good things must come to an end."
For the vast majority of 2,264 days, I have had the distinct honor and priviledge of starting this thread for the benefit of all who frequent this place.
It has been a blessing and one I will remember for the rest of my days.
Having been here through the start of the Iraq War, the immigration battles (which are still going on), hurricane KATRINA, and through all of it holding true to the Constitution, and the goal of improving the "American Way of Life". What I have learned in that time is that there are so many others who believe in these same principles--often there are those who express these things more elequontly than myself.
Demands on my life at this point, however, are dictating a change. I am finding it less and less possible to carve out the time to be faithful and true to the thread. I have kids getting ready for college, major turmoil at work (not my doing, but I'm stuck in it), and competing hobbies.
I will just cut right to it, I don't have the time in the morning anymore like I used to.
Thus, it is with a heavy heart that I have concluded this will be the last time I intend to start the ATRW thread. I would still like to be a member of this august group, but I think I would much prefer to post when I have time, because I need to get some time back to myself--particularly in the morning as I figure out what I need to do during the day.
I realize this is sudden and I apologize. I do hope, and I believe, that you folks will carry on. I am not leaving FreeRepublic, just becoming more of a "back bencher" for awhile. I wish to remain on ATRW's ping list for as long as ATRW continues.
I hope everyone understands. I'm just burned out.

After getting over this shocking breaking news I surely want to encourage no defections, we got to pull together and no question, someone will be able to step in and keep us going, The LAST thing I want to see is ATRW to fade off into the sunset, I need ya’ll as each of you help me keep my sanity. Me, I am to computer dumb to do anything but we have some very dedicated, smart folks who can step in and keep us going. PLEASE do l=not fade off into ‘use to be’s’.
I really don’t feel like spouting off my normal junk today and I do have one piece of wonderful news. Today we pick up the oder from the judge authorizing the kids to adopt Jason and we will see the attorney who will handle the adoption this morning as well. My friends, today starts my road to getting me a instant grandson and I assure you, pictures will be forthcoming but restricted to do so at this moment.

I understand and appreciate what you have done for all of us. With what I have been going through, I have also dropped the ball as well, but my son’s welfare and our survival of this divorce are paramount.
After starting the Tony Snow Show thread and keeping it going for about 4 months or so, I can attest to the committment and responsibility that a daily thread requires.
You have provided us such a wonderful place for so long Chairman, and I thank you. I fully understand your changing priorities and believe you are doing the right thing.
I’d like to see the thread continue, it will be difficult for me to commit to helping with posting it while we are traveling. I look forward to seeing the consensus of the ATRW members.

Chair, you have been a wonderful, faithful starter-upper for us less computer literate ones. You are much appreciated for your thoughts, your rants and steadfastness. As I’ve said in the past, you are a gem.
I met my first FR friends here on ATRW. Someone here directed me to the “war thread” where I met other friends. Baseballmom was the very first FReeper I was in contact when I found this Forum on an search looking for info on the Glenn Beck Rally for America in Valley Forge in 2003. I consider her still my friend.
Busy day & I will be planting between the raindrops earlier.
I think a great deal of most of the people here at ATRW & it is so regrettable the craziness that has infected the great forum & it is my prayer that things will eventually return to a gentler & better home away from home. If they don’t there are many losers in the process
I lurk a lot & will drop in now & then here if someone picks up on the chair’s bandwagon. The other daily news & friendship thread is where I am mostly hanging for now
