Yum..smoked turkey and brisket.
The lake has a spillway, so yesterday after the horrendous rain stopped, the lake did go down a bit. It’s still full to the brim and with each rain the water from the surrounding hills flow into it. The ground is saturated and we will be getting rains until about Thursday.
Yes we are on a high spot. Thank goodness. A lot of our streets were flooded and there are still flash flood warnings out for the country roads. This is a pretty old town and some of the sewer lines are as old as the town, so consequently some of the streets did flood.
I think we should all send this letter to our senators, and representatives. I wonder what the answer would be? LOL
If those who have “left” would only post “there”, the daily posts here would be about 20. Some are visiting both.,

Sounds yummy. Tomorrow we’re going to have hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans and oatmeal cookies. There. It will be raining too much to have a bbq, so it’ll be done inside. durn.

This thread was always a sanctuary...from the thread wars....but recently it joined those wars...friend called friend names...some have left all together never to return...it wasn't because of being banned.

Plus, the fact that there are some who simply will not let go...MUST have the last word. I say..move on...it only makes things worse.
They thrive on disagreement.
Debate is good, but when someone admits that each has the right to a different opinion and the other insists on proving their point, that's when I have better things to do like clean 2 litter boxes and 2 horse stalls and a chicken coop.
