The Real Deal takes viewers inside the world of Trademark Properties for an eye-opening and unapologetic look at the world of real estate. This fast-paced series takes viewers along for the ride, as it reveals the true reality of making money in real estate. With a stellar lineup headed by team captain and Trademark Properties founder, Richard Davis, the team brings a whole new meaning to real estate.
Each week, Richard and Ginger, his sassy and highly savvy investment coordinator, along with the rest of the team, locate, renovate and profit from the most challenging projects they can find.
Their secret? Make your money when you buy, get the job done right and get it done fast.
Richard and Team Trademark pull off what everyone else says is impossible and that's just the way they like it! Whether it's a house that's been on the market forever, a condo or historic building, a restaurant or a community project, Team Trademark does what no one else can
or at least, what no one else has the guts to try.
Another good show on TLC: (with Andrew Dan-Jumbo)

Ping!
Thanks for reminding me of this!
I was upset when they went off.
I’ll be watchign tonight!
Richard Davis should win; the show was HIS idea and they dumped him.
I’ll be watching, glad you posted this.
Sorry to learn they lost the “Flip This House” title and music. The other posers suck.
This crew has so much personality—it has to be another hit!
The new crews are awful!
I e-mailed it to him.
It’s amazing how much money is in this. Last episode they showed Davis buying his own minor league baseball team...that is after that $100,000 college football booth.
Thanks, mom... I’m really looking forward to this....
It seems to be very lucrative! The trick it seems is getting it flipped before the first note comes due.
The only thing they don’t talk about is the tax ramifications of these flips since they are not keeping the houses for a long period of time, the tax on the sale is higher IIRC.
Do you mean capital gains? I thought that was only with private ownership?
Thank you—yes, I have my DVR set, as we’ll likely be out tonight. I saw the one where they restored (and moved!) the baseball player’s home, and loved it—except they could have done as well without the bad language. A show like that would have been inspirational to kids, but not with that language.
“The trick it seems is getting it flipped before the first note comes due.”
The trick is in having the legal staff of TLC or the production company behind you to get bureaucrats to push through all the attendant paperwork, inspections, variances etc. before that note is due.
I was thinking in terms of all the private people doing flips, the taxes have to be killing them.
Well I know Trademark has been doing this for many years before the shows came along. I’m sure not every single purchase ends of being a successful “flip” but it looks like he knows the formula.
I’d be very interested in seeing how some of the buyers fared when the various state and local agencies which the ‘flipper’ ignored,(as he has done numerous times on the show let alone the ones that weren’t shown) finally caught up with them.
I’ve seen them get shut down a few times from inspectors that made them stop work. They did push the envelope a few times.
Hopefully buyers are getting a home inspection, but I don’t think they can be completely thorough.

Another thing to keep in mind. There is most likely an entirely new corporation formed for each flip, that and the use of fly by night sub-contractors with illegal alien workers, thereby insulating TM and the *star* from any repercussions.
I don’t know all the ins and outs of this business, but I’m smart enough to know that it ain’t as easy as portrayed on TV.
As they used to say at the end of the 50’s radio show, “Johnny Dollar”...”Remember, there’s no such thing as easy money.” (except for welfare of course)
Today is the official unveiling of the only REAL show on Television, "THE REAL DEAL". ! We are glad to be back showing what really happens and what it really takes to operate in the high stakes business of Real Estate speculation! It can be both educational and entertaining but whatever it is, we are Real People operating A Real Business with Real emotions flying and Real Dollars at risk!! Time to let you watch Team Trademark continue the high energy philosophy of Work hard, play hard, and make a difference at the end of the day!!
Do not miss the world premiere tonight at 9pm on TLC!!
Remember the best place to tell us what you think is on IMDB.com page of either The Real Deal or Tradema rk Productions!

Cool—Thanks!
BTW, I just found that there is a Trademark Flip this House rerun on A&E right now.
Yes, they’re running back to backs today, not sure if they’re all Trademarks or not—but it’s obvious they’re trying to counter the new show on TLC.
A lot of TLC’s shows are rerun on Discovery Home channel, wonder if Real Deal will work that way too? Take-Home Handyman, for instance—which is a pretty good show.
Thanks so much for the reminder. I was so disappointed when A&E changed the cast as this was one of my favorite shows. I’m looking forward to seeing Richard and Team Trademark’s new show tonight.
What did you guys think? I loved it. It felt the pretty much the same to me, so I was happy. It was funny when Richard was irritating Ginger by throwing all the chemicals in the pool and Ginger saying “don’t talk to me.” ~LOL
It isn’t on here yet, Little People is on.. one good thing about TLC they will show it again later tonight.
