'American Idol' says sayonara to Sanjaya
NEW YORK - Sanjaya Malakar, the under-talented but unflappable singer who horrified and captivated millions in his improbable "American Idol" run, was finally voted off the show Wednesday night.
When the result was announced, Malakar wiped away tears and got a big hug from LaKisha Jones, the next lowest vote-getter. "I'm fine," he told Ryan Seacrest. "It was an amazing experience." ADVERTISEMENT
"I can promise you: We won't soon forget you," Seacrest replied.

OK, I never watched American Idol, but this guy has been all over the place. It hasn't helped my stomach any. So I'll take this occassion to be thankful about his being dropped from the show. Maybe now those images of him doing the Hula will stop haunting my few moments that I get to enjoy watching something on TV...
oh yeah................. well I hope he is bald at 25.
Don't you believe that...it's only a matter of time (and probably not long) before someone gives him a record deal to make a quick buck while he's in the glow of his 15 minutes of fame. It happened before with that guy that sang off key so badly.

You got me thinking, and sure enough I went to YOUTUBE, where they have tons of old "Gong Show" clips for viewing. I had to see a few, including the appearance of "Oingo Boingo" from 1976. Funny stuff - check it out some time!

I’m sick of hearing about this dude. I don’t care a whit about American Idle. I think they turn out some good artists, but I’m sick of all the hype and publicity. Day after day I hear this guy on the morning news. I’m sure it won’t quit now.

He seems harmless. I didn't hear him cuss, yell, or do anything other than smile and put his hair up in some weird ass ways.
I think the guy knew he wasn't the best singer, but just rode the popularity thing for all it was worth. Pleasant smile, kinda effeminate, reminds me of the Bobby Sherman, Davy Jones, Bobby Goldsboro, Keith Partridge, Ricky Nelson types....nice hair, nice smile, not overly "masculine" but the young girls loved and love them cause they aren't threatening. Kind of like a boy that is really a girlfriend. hahahahahaha.
I watched it last year for Taylor whom I enjoyed. But this year AI has been incredibly boring and the talent unbelievably banal.............I’m just surprised Sanjaya didn’t win, really..............
Funny, I wouldn't’t use those words to describe the Dolittle gal; she’s a powerhouse, very talented,IMO.
I started calling him Sangina almost out of the gate. I did enjoy looking at his sister early on.
Jordin Sparks and Blake Edwards are the only ones competing that I find interesting.
Maybe Sanjaya and William Hung will go on tour and record duets together.
LOL! That’s the first thing I thought of when I saw him on Idol—he looks like the guy from The Crying Game. Poor kid. I’m sure he’s just an effeminate heterosexual.

I am referring to the competition overall. It just doesn’t hold my interest this year and I probably won’t watch it again - they threw out people better than the stupid Sanjaya............
