The Hobbit Hole XXXIII - And the brook that leaps from hill to plain...
Posted on 03/08/2007 2:40:27 PM PST by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Trying to do part of a computer based training thing before going home... No fair! Those things are suppose to be easy. This one is asking me to calculate stuff with equations. I guess it is time to go home.

I was out of regular milk, so I tried a Buttermilk Corn Bread recipe. Had some Saco Buttermilk Powder that I added to the dry ingredients, so I only had to add water! Smells GOOD! Since the oven is fired up, and the cold wind is still howling, I think I'll make some Oatmeal Cookies!

Speaking of Lembas. I have decided the flour part of the cookie is chia flour. That stuff is filling. It's a very slow-digesting fiber. I had an energy bar with some chia seeds in it that was extremely filling and my first thought was lembas.... with chocolate.

Just watched the last two episodes of "Lost", and enjoyed them both, although I enjoyed last week's ep (with Hugo and the microbus) better. Still, good to get back to the more interesting characters on the island!
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Oh yeah - we have a LOST to watch! I forgot! Rosie... how about tomorrow earlier?
To: RosieCotton
To: HairOfTheDog
Tomorrow would be OK - or this weekend.
I have cookies if the DVR didn't work...
To: HairOfTheDog
Dang...nine pages? Wouldn't have thought it'd create so much controversy.
IMO, I'd go with careless. More than careless - stupid. Even on a really well trained horse, it still strikes me as rather like using a reallllly tall wheeled office chair to reach that thing way at the back of the shelf - only the chair has a mind of its own. Wouldn't take much to end in disaster, even without factoring in hurting the horse.
But that's just me.

C came over and helped me set up my DVDR. So that's done, no more stacks of VCRs, no more tapes to change out every morning.
I am exhausted however. Totally wiped out.
Gonna finish off the cholesterol medicine and take a hot soak and hit the hay.
Gotta go to the doctor tomorrow afternoon. Oh joy.

My latest batch of yogurt didn't turn out at all. It curdled instead of setting. Very disappointing, not to mention unappetizing. Hrm.

Talon will be jealous. None of the three Imaxes in Iowa have it. I think Imax might be a bit overwhelming.
We haven't been to a movie in... well, not since before we got married, and that's six months today. There just hasn't been anything worth seeing.

Yep, we're planning to see "300", but maybe not until next weekend. I think we're going to see "Amazing Grace" this weekend, instead.
Usually we like to see the blockbusters a week after their release, so as to miss the big crowds.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Hmm, that's not a bad plan! We are both in the mood for an action movie though. Hafta hear you and Corin report on Amazing Grace, though, I haven't really heard anything about the movie, just its premise.
