Wearin' of the green? Packers have interest in Moss, but receiver would bring lots of baggage

Indianapolis - The Oakland Raiders are trying to dump Randy Moss and the Green Bay Packers definitely are interested if the former all-pro wide receiver would agree to a restructured contact in order to play with a better team and Brett Favre.
Sources close to the situation said the Packers had explored trading for Moss, the temperamental former Minnesota Viking who once pretended to moon the crowd at Lambeau Field.
The two teams have had preliminary dialogue but at this point the Packers consider Moss to be an economically unfeasible solution to their need for another receiver alongside Donald Driver and Greg Jennings.
Moss has two years left on his contract, including base salaries of $9.75 million in 2007 and $11.25 million in '08. Moss' business agent is Tim DiPiero, but some of his affairs are handled by James "Bus" Cook, the only agent Favre has ever had. Mindful of tampering rules, general manager Ted Thompson and Packers coach Mike McCarthy have carefully avoided talking about Moss. Yet, neither has denied interest in him, either.
"You have the opportunity to obtain players for your program through the draft and free agency, and he's another part of free agency," McCarthy said last week. "That's where I stand on that."
The trading period opens Friday. New England and Jacksonville reportedly also are interested in Moss.
Several Raiders sources at the NFL combine indicated that Moss wasn't expected back in '07.

Now here's a picture I bet no Packer fan ever thought they'd see.

After watching him rip the Packers apart from the outside, this Vikings fan would love nothing more than watching this player rip that team apart from the inside.
No one on the face of the earth is worth 10 million dollars salary.
I think the league wants him out of Oakland even more than Randy does.
I would take him in a heartbeat, especially since they are rumored to be offering a 4th and maybe would come down to a 3rd. Just to watch Viking fans gnash their teeth when he scores on them would be worth it.
Favre is probably one of the few guys Moss even respects in the league and I think it would be a perfect combo. He'd have to restructure his contract and there is no way I would let him stay here for the next QB after Favre...THEN it would be a mess.
Of course we also know how much Matt Millen just loves WR's....
When you think about it, it really would make sense for Detroit to take WR from Georgia Tech if he is there since Roy Williams needs a nother stud WR on the other side after all of these busts, but could you imagine the uproar if he took another WR in the early 1st round?
Poor Lions fans.
That's sad that Millen put himself in this position, because Johnson is ridiculously good.
When ever a discussion occurs about how 'over paid' athletes are, the one thing I always consider is that none of these owners are stupid (though we at times may think their decisions are). They got to where they are by being good businessmen (there are some exceptions) in a wide variety of fields. With that in mind, then these guys know both what they can afford, and what they are willing to pay.
As for me, having been a 15 year season ticket holder for the Niner's, have decided not to renew my tickets. The ticket price for the Niner's has gone from $65.00 a game to $84.00, which is a 30% increase in one year. That means I am now looking at a $400.00 day to take four people to the game.
I say, let the owner's decide the pay scale, and let the fans decide the market price.

FReepmail rock_lobsta to be added to the Fantasy Football Ping list...
When the Lions are on the clock the whole crowd in New York will mockingly call out Calvin Johnson's name.
I think he just wants to play with a QB that can get him the football.

Now here's a picture I bet no Packer fan ever wanted to see.
Of course, we temporarily rehabbed Andre "Hunk of Burning House" Rison.
They could go WR in the draft.
Sacrilege!!! Blasphemy!!!!
I don't blame you. The last Saints game I went to was in '94 or '95. It's too expensive. I'd just as soon stay at home and watch it on TV. It's a lot cheaper(especially the beer), most of the views are better, and if you get exasperated by the network commentators, mute it and put on the radio team(Archie Manning was the funniest color commentator around when he did Saints games).
