If the Rolling Rock TV ad is any indication, there will be a lot of money wasted today. That banner ad for Emerald Nuts showing up here and there also does not instill a lot of confidence that we'll see excellence on parade.

I think the subtitles were on the original Mac commercial. Or am I wrong?

Superbowl commercials attempt to reach into the core of your being where you are contemplating the majesty of God's universe and replace that with beer, Chevys, and various medications for %$^% itch.

I think the subtitles were on the original Mac commercial. Or am I wrong? I don't remember, to be honest. I was 9 at the time! :O) Most of the versions on YouTube don't have subtitles, so I would imagine the original did not have subtitles. I think it helps to have subtitles, as I had a hard time hearing the narration, otherwise.

I found a page that gives some sneak previews of this years Superbowl Commercials. I really don't like that concept. It ruins the element of SURPRISE. Tonight some red crabs on a beach steal a cooler of Bud beer.

Here is a really banal anti-smoking
COMMERCIAL from the 2002 Superbowl game. Not really interesting nor FUnnie. Little creativity.

Chances are slim to none that we'll see this one.
But I live in hope.

There is some sort of a commercial contest open to the general public.
They showed one of them on FNC a few says ago. I'm looking forward to those. The one I saw was pretty good and the guy made it using his camcorder and his computer.
It was a Doritos commercial about a rock climber.

There is some sort of a commercial contest open to the general public. Really? Years ago I have a strange natural special effects happen to me. It involved cans of soda. When it happened I thought it would make for a great soda commercial. Let me know more about that contest.

I'm definitely looking forward to the ad from Apple this year. Other than that, probably just the beer ones as they are usually the best ones.

Vlasic pickles should do a commercial this year based on the name confusion with almost unknown candidate, Tom Vilsack.
