When intruders burglarized Kimberly Holzer's home, they not only stole DVDs, video games, a camera and other electronic gear, they urinated on maternity clothes given to her as gifts and stuffed her Chihuahua into a freezer.
The Chihuahua, named Roxy, spent at least 90 minutes inside the freezer before he was found by deputies, who searched the house after Holzer's mother-in-law told them the couple had a dog.
...
Roxy was checked by a veterinarian, who declared him in good condition, Holzer said.
For Holzer, the ordeal was especially challenging because she is pregnant with twins and her husband is away on military duty in Afghanistan.
Holzer's pregnancy is high risk, and the stress of the burglary has increased her family's concerns about her condition.
...
Volunteers from Edwards Air Force Base helped clean up her ransacked home.
Of her urine-soaked maternity clothes, she said tearfully: "What am I going to do with that? I didn't even get to wear them yet. It's just so sad."
She said the thieves emptied out file cabinets and even stole eggs from her refrigerator.
...
When deputies arrived, they found one suspected burglar leaving the residence and four others inside.
Deavean Irvin, 20, of Lancaster and four juveniles were arrested on suspicion of burglary, receiving stolen property and animal cruelty, deputies said. Irvin was jailed in lieu of $20,000 bail.
Neighbors said they have been suspicious of the many visitors coming and going from a home in the 3300 block of East Avenue K-4, where deputies investigating Holzer's burglary detained several people and seized property they suspected was stolen.
"The home has so much activity," said a neighbor who recently installed a security system to protect her home in a neighborhood she once deemed very quiet. "We really wanted them out of there."

Any way we can help this lady out? I would be willing to send some bucks her way.
Maybe through the family support groups at Edwards AFB.
I would like to reach back to Puritan times, a sterner, cleaner, justice, and have the perps burned at the stake.
Well, maybe a week in the stocks.
Even that would be an improvement.
A DNA search, thats what.
If you substitute "perpetrators" with "Bill Clinton" and "Kimberly" with "the American electorate", it generates a kind of realistic, funny and sad picture. That's how we felt after Bill Clinton, and if Hillary gets elected, it'll be that kind of feeling one has when the burglars set fire to the house on their way out.
Well, they have five suspects in custody.
Hard to imagine that anyone else would have done that kind of despicable deed.
Too quick. Keelhauling sounds about right. If one had the time and a willing mob there's always breaking on the wheel.

I like the way you think.
A good reason why if you are going to get a dog you should get a real one. No thugs would stuff my ridgeback and my doby in a freezer.
I think a week in a freezer would be good.
A week in a freezer; naked and drenched in urine.
Even better!
