Can't Wait! I'm going to have to get the Jim Dale narration, as his characters are wonderful.
Woohoooooo! My daughter's gonna be climbing the walls!
I heard the news in the shower this morning and couldn't wait to break it to everyone!
Yee haw, I was waiting for you to post this!! Can't wait!!!
And my sister will have read the entire book before sun rise.
I wonder what will happen in this last book....
No work that day!
OK let's start the betting. Who gets snuffed besides Voldemort? Harry? Wormtail? A Malfoy? Snape? Hagrid? A Weasley? (Please let it be Percy.)
OOTP opens the 13th!
Aaack!
The Order of the Phoenix in theaters on July 13 and the new book on July 21!!!
Woo hoo!
LOL!! It's crazy. The last book, I pretty much counted down to the release, then 10 hours later it was all over! I actually tried to put it down and make it last longer, but I couldn't do that either!
That's like me when "24" day 5 came out on DVD.
It's going to be a week plus of non-stop Pottermania.
I've never watched that show, but I am a "Sopranos" junkie. On a Roger Federer thread, someone wrote that Jack Bauer wears Roger Federer pajamas. I nearly fell out of my chair laughing. :)
This is just my personal theory, and I have absolutely nothing to back it up, but I'm betting Percy sees the error of his ways and returns to the Weasley fold.
If you can tear yourself away from the Equus DVD. ;~D
My sibs are going to be very, very disappointed that I can't make it for the family Potter party.
I was a huge Sporanos fan until last season. I pray that they can right the ship this April.
I'll have to make sure these dates are taken into consideration when we make our vacation schedules. Or at least make sure we leave right after mail delivery...
I figured that Dumbledore had enlisted Percy as a deep cover mole for the Order in the ministry. Don't know how that holds up now that Dumbledore is dead.
For sure. We have been watching from the beginning on A & E the past few weeks, and I commented to my hubby that these early episodes really highlight how much last season sucked!
No word yet about Jim Dale - the audios are from Random House, not Scholastic, and they have not been told whether he will be back. Everybody hopes so!
I will see if I can get any more info...
My theory - Dumbledore isn't dead. Gryffindor's sword is his horcrux. Harry figures it out and brings him back.
Yep, I think Ginny will take a dirt nap and it will forever torment Harry... just a theory.
I think Jim Dale's onboard.
I still want to find the UK audio books, the guy that reads them is supposed to blow Dale out of the water. (And that would take some doing IMO)
That was back when each episode actually had a point.
But who would Dumbledore kill in order to make a horcrux?
Sigh. We'll be on the reserve list at the library until about December. Sometimes requesting the Large Print version speeds it up, though ...
Moaning Ginny?
Could that work if it was Fawkes, I forget if it has to be a person?
So who did Dumbledore murder to make his horcrux?
Did you see this, wolf? Weren't you the one in line at midnight for Half-Blood Prince?
On some levels that is just wrong, but on other levels, it's hysterical!
In book 6, he very briefly mentions that he has killed before. "People who have never killed believe it's easy to take another's life."
Note to self...re-read book 6!!!
I still think it will be revealed that Severus Snape is Draco Malfoy's father.
As a generalization, I'd suggest the author wipe the floor with the whole cast, except for some guy we never paid any attention to. It worked for Shakespeare!
I'm very curious as to why not July 7 (two weeks earlier)? I.e., 7/7/07 for the 7th book.
LOL!! I'd be afraid any minute Chris Hansen and a camera crew from Dateline would come walking out of my kitchen asking me what I was doing. ;-)
All I can say is she better not kill off Hagrid.
Snape's a half-blood. Draco's mother Narcissa is a member of the Black family (Toujours Pur, remember?) She'd never share her bed with a half-blood.
I don't think Hagrid's gonna get it, he's sort of a peripheral character now.
Wouldn't mind seeing Snape fed to a crate of Blast Ended Skruts though.
I wouldn't be surprised if he has a Snape moment and tells the Wesley's at the last minute that someone is coming to rub them out.
I bet we are going to see much more from Wormtail and Neville. There was not nearly enough of either character in the last book.
Neville's transformation was one of the best parts of the OOTP.
Her sister married a Muggle. Obviously the heredity doesn't entirely predict behavior!
Narcissa's a weak link, and Snape is crazy about her. If I were the author, I could drive a thousand pages of plot through there :-).
Neville's been underutilized so far, so either he's a box canyon, plot-wise, or there's going to be a major role for him in this last book.
Anoreth thinks that Neville will wipe out the Lestranges, Bellatrix and Whatsisface.
You really have a fear of Dateline, don't you.
Forget Jim Dale - the Stephen Fry versions are better.
I think there is more to the sorting hat. I don't know if it's a horcrux or what it's deal is really, but I think there is a lot more to it.
