As an ex-Baltimore resident, I am no fan of the Irsay clan. Dungy seems like a class act though.

I sure can understand that. Papa Irsay was a horrible person. However, Jim Irsay is not his fathers son.

Indy is a class organization all around. They were my favorite going into the playoffs, and I wanted them to win for Dungy. I ordered my personalized jersey this evening.
GO COLTS!

I was hoping for a Indy/Chi. match up Me too. I was born and raised in Chicago--I even remember the 1963 champion Bears. And Indianapolis is another Upper Midwest town, so that was the matchup I was rooting for also.
Oh, and BTW, it had nothing to do with the race of the coaches.
To: zarf
Oh geez, lighten up Francis. The owner and coach thanked God.

I was optimistic the Colts would get in, the same optimism I had in years past. This time they came through for me.
Earlier in the season I would not have picked da Bears, hurrah for them too.

If he didn't, he wouldn't have designed the football.
To: zarf
I don't think God is very into who covered the spread, but I think it likely that He is involved in the lives of those who make football their profession, thus it's quite appropriate for a decent man like Tony Dungy to thank God in such an instance.
To: Kimmers
The Bears D is the only thing that will keep them in the SuperBowl. QB to QB, Manning makes Grossman look like a Joey Harrington. LOL!

Dungy is. We Bucs fans love Tony like he was still our coach. I really don't give a toss about the Colts, but I do want to see Coach Dungy get his ring. Unfortunately, Chucky is wearing the one he already earned.

Not the two teams I'd have liked in the Super Bowl, but congrats to both teams! I think it's going to be a good game. The Colts/Patriots certainly was!
I think it's neat when coaches, players, etc., give credit to God. He may not care about the game, but He obviously directs the lives of some of the players!

No, I do not think he really cares about football but he does care about our salvation and relationship with him.
I do know that many people in the Colts organization are Christians. Jim Irsay has turned his life around and has publicly said for him is God first, family then football.
So if a man wants to publicly declare his faith I do not see the problem.

I'm the guy who suggested to Dave Frick that he and other Indianapolis Capital committee people come out and take a look at what they'd done in Baltimore and maybe get some ideas for Indianapolis.
Guess he did.
Anyway, great lineup for the Super Bowl.

It seems alot of folks in the Baltimore area still have anger "issues" from the Colts leaving. I would think that would be insulting to the Raven's team.
How many years ago was it that Daddy Irsay pulled the Colts out of Baltimore? Let's see...Payton was 8 years old. It's time to let it go and get over it.
And some people can't grasp that giving God praise for anything shows humbleness and shouldn't upset their sensibilities. I really respect Coach Dungy after the tough times that he and his family have been through this year. Dungy is a living example of loving God in the good time and bad times. It's not a matter of just "a football game", it's a life style for him. I'm sure some people just don't get that. I feel sorry for them.
I'm happy for the whole Colts orgainization, players, Payton, Dungy, Jim Irsay and all Colts fans.
The pats played a great game too !! But what an awesome comeback!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!!!! GO COLTS!!!

Some folks find it hard to imagine the emotional bond that the fans of Balitmore had with the Colts of those days. Irsay, under the cover of darkness, took a piece of the city's soul that night.

About as much as he probably care about your "bloody" opinion.
Perhaps God does enjoy his flock having fun. It's sad some of his flock are so cynical that they cannot accept that others enjoy football.
