Duke Named in Civil Lawsuit Stemming From Lacrosse Case Posted: 20 minutes ago Durham — A former Duke University lacrosse player sued the university Thursday alleging that one of his professors unfairly gave him a failing grade because he was a member of the team. Kyle Dowd graduated in May 2006, two months after a woman said she was raped at a lacrosse team party. The allegations set off a tumultuous few weeks in Durham, with almost daily protests by people who criticized lacrosse team members for a pattern of rowdy behavior. Dowd's lawsuit alleges that visiting professor Kim Curtis gave him an F in a politics and literature class that nearly prevented him from graduating, even though he had earned passing grades on his assignments to that point. Curtis could not be reached for comment Thursday evening. A Duke University spokesman said he could not comment because he had not seen the lawsuit. According to the lawsuit, only one other person in the 40-student class, another lacrosse player, received an F. "Defendant Curtis engaged in extreme outrageous and unethical conduct ... due to personal bias and prejudice," the lawsuit says.

OK, first lesson for any conservative on a leftist campus: DO YOUR RESEARCH! His "professor" probably has a plenty of published work to indicate what she is all about--also check the course selections. If you do not do your legwork, and make sure you are at least getting a fair prof, then you are setting yourself up for poor grades and much suffering. This is imperative! Check with the college conservative groups, go to the library, use your computer, check her course readings, etc, etc. I have no doubt that this young man could have avoided this nut if he had taken his education a little more seriously. I routinely dropped 3 or 4 courses each semester (with back-up courses lined up) because of leftist profs. Also, use your first day or two to get the info you will need, pose as a crazy, radical leftist and go have a chat with the prof; if he bites, drop him fast.

When forced to take one of these harpies for a class (because all the other classes are closed) it's best to keep one's mouth shut and them smoke them when the evaluations are passed out.

It is amazing to see the caliber of professor at a school that charges it's customers $40,000 per year for the privilege of an education....
Professor, Kim Curtis, who, as you can see, was NOT invited to the PROM, failed two lacrosse player in retaliation for the rape allegations. According to WRAL, the grades were changed to passing grades later, which implies that the student is correct in his charge. By the way, Curtis was one of the infamous Duke 88, a group of lefty, multi-culti profs who condemned the players early on.
