Here's the new alternate helmet that Oregon might break out for the Vegas Bowl.
Below is an excerpted article from today's Register-Guard. The Register-Guard requires registration.
LAS VEGAS BOWL
New lids give Ducks new look By Bob Clark The Register-Guard Published: Friday, December 15, 2006
Oh, my.
In what would have otherwise been a routine return to practice Thursday, about half of the Oregon players donned new helmets in a preview of what the Ducks might look like in the Las Vegas Bowl in a week.
And what a look it was, and could be next week.
"You never know with us," offensive coordinator Gary Crowton said. "It's exciting if the players like it and if they like it, that's what it's all about." (snip)

what the hell does a flame pattern have to do with either Oregon OR Ducks??
Huh??
:)
I have no idea...I think Oregon needs to move past the uniform "thing". I realize that their Nike's team/uniform tester, but this is ridiculous. Hopefully, this new helmet will go the way of the ill-fated "Roboduck" (below)
correction: their = they're
Losing Tuohy is gonna hurt the Defense. The other two are scrubs who have yet to see any playing time.
When are these kids gonna learn not to put themselves in these stupid situations?
LOL
Wow....

Harbaugh to (coach) Stanford
Ok everyone...
I'm going through a bit of withdrawal and although some of the early bowls will be complete dogs, I'll still watch 'em :)
The first one to pick, for those of us who want too...
I'm taking TCU (-12) vs. Northern Illinois.....
TCU all the way. I gotta pull for MWC teams. I think this will be a blowout. TCU's defense is very good, but then again I didn't see the Huskies play at all this year, so I don't know what they bring to the table besides Garrett Wolf.
TCU 38 N Illinois 17.
Go Frogs!!!!
U actually love the early bowl games.
Over the years, I've gotten to see some well-played and hard-fought games.
I've had the opportunity to see some players (like Ladainian Tomlinson) before they hit it big in the pros.
How 'bout this game? The 2001 GMAC Bowl.
Marshall defeats East Carolina 64-61 in 2 OT's. I saw that game. It was unforgettable.
The QB's for both teams? Byron Leftwich and David Garrard - both of whom now play for Jacksonville.
Yep...
Was that the game that Leftwich broke his ankle and his linemen were carrying him?
Frogs in a wok.
So does that mean you take them to cover?
:)
"Its all about the money."
Been that way for 100+ years....
yeah but it would be nice if they would come out and admit it...
Ya know?
Like the entire BCS process. They say that it's a way to determine the true national champion.
I know you are a Michigan fan, do you think the BCS worked this year? I can't imagine you will and I don't blame you.
It's a power and money grab. It's always been that way. But the constant denial by the powers that be doesn't look good for them. I guess that's why Congress is looking into them now.
Bein' a Michigan fan, I say they had their chance...they lost their "elimination" game...LLLLLoyd Carr showed class in my book...
Another thing, the Lions being so bad, might have a choice between Brady Quinn or Troy Smith as QB draft pick. An ND or OSU QBin' the Lions!
It will be Brady Quinn.
I think Troy Smith will be ok as an NFL QB (he won't be Gino Torretta for example), but he won't go before the 15th pick at the earliest and most likely later than that.
