Ok I think the HTML will work now :)
I am proposing that we all do a Bowl Pick'Em league on this thread.
This is the form I'd like to receive from each person. While going down the bowls I have listed, give me the name of the team and the spread for that team. If you are picking the winner, but they won't cover, please put a * next to the pick.
Example:
I picked Tennessee (-4.5) to win, but I don't think they will cover. The exact score doesn't matter, just whether or not the team covered or beat the spread.
Therefore I would write:
Tennessee (-4.5)*
Note: if you are going to participate, I'll need to have all of the picks in by the beginning of the game on Tuesday the 19th of December. You can either give them to me at the beginning of each game OR (and this is preferred), you can list them all at once. If there is no line, the pick is straight up and will be signified by a '**' next to the pick.
Here are my picks:
TCU (-12)
BYU (-4)
Rice (-5.5)
USF (-4)
San Jose St. (+3)
Tulsa (+1.5)
Hawaii (-8)
Central Michigan (-10)
UCLA (-4.5)
Ok State (-2.5)
Cal (-5)
Rutgers (-7.5)*
Clemson (-10)
Oregon State (-3.5)
South Carolina (-6.5)
Texas Tech (-6.5)
Purdue (Pick) **
BC (-6)
Texas (-11)*
Va Tech (-2.5)
Miami (-3.5)
Tennessee (-4.5)*
Auburn (-3)
Wisconsin (+1.5)
West Virginia (-7)
Cincy (-8)
Southern Miss (-6)
Michigan (+1)
Oklahoma (-7.5)*
Louisville (-10)
LSU (-9)

Nice job on the graphics...
I'll post my picks after I give it a serious look.
To: scott says
thanks :)
It took a while to get all of them to line up right for the most part...
I had it written out 3 days ago, but I wanted to let the lines adjust a bit....

Nebraska just hired Alabamas D-Line coach, I think his experience playing Auburn this year is going to matter quite a bit. Nebraska will play a game of dare you with Auburn, we will dare them to pass. We know that if Nebraska wants to stop the run they will stop the run. Its going to be one of the better games this bowl season.

Here is a scenario for you to ponder. Florida beats the Buckeyes by a score of 23/21. A week earlier Michigan stomps the Trojans 45/10 and Boise State routs the Sooners 34/3 leaving Boise State an unbeaten 13/0. Who's number 1 then?

Nebraska's defense isn't what worries me.
It's the overly conservative playcalling that afflicts Bill Callahan in big games.

It will be Florida if that scenario pans out.
Michigan might get some AP votes, probably not enough though.

It seems that going conservative is the type of game plan that works against Auburn. They are fairly weak against the run.

yeah but if there isn't the threat of a pass and you don't have Darren McFadden in the backfield, Auburn can put 8 in the box and be ok on the outside....

My point is there should be a playoff with the top 4 ranked teams at least. Three more games after the bowls. Two of the games would be played on the Saturday before the NFL AFC/NFC conference championships. The winners playing on the Saturday before the Super Bowl. The Buckeyes can solve this issue with a win but, a Boise State win too, especially a rout over the Sooners will leave 2 unbeaten teams.

True and I agree with you to a certain point, however, this is the system we have, and I don't think Boise State would qualify for any tournament with the top 4 teams this year anyway....
I don't like the BCS, but that's the system this year and that's what I focused on.
To: MikefromOhio
You did a good job. I'm not dis-agreeing with you. Sports Illustrated had an article on a playoff scenario a few weeks ago taking the top 8 teams after the bowls. It was interesting.

yeah now with 8 teams Boise should be in the mix.....SI screwed that one up.
but I don't htink they are top 4....

just posted on the thread.
Easier to reference that way :)

Just a FYI... Jim Tressel has the Buckeyes engaged in practice and strategery sessions in the Secret Underground UnBustable Buckeye Bunker, near the Buckeye Donut shop on N. High Street.
The National Championship is his agenda this year.

Don't you remember that King Day Classic? It wasn't really a bowl game though -- rather it was one of those All-Star games. As I recall, it was Division I-A All-Stars versus Division I-AA, II, and III All-Stars....it was played on MLK Day for a year or two....
That International Bowl rather turns me off...I don't know why...it wouldn't be so bad if it featured players from Canada maybe (CFL hopefuls from various schools in Canada, or maybe one Canadian college against a US college....) But why would two US teams want to go to Toronto this time of year?
