Ok, it's 4:11 AM and I just discovered the shuffle option in itunes and I am listening to the 4 Seasons, kinks, elvis, ventures etc and it will be a miracle if I don't wake up the missus tapping my foot against the floor and singing out of my cheap walkman headphones...
"Don't think twice, it's alright babe..."
So what are you listening to?

Not one of Lux's better songs, in my opinion.
At the moment, I'm importing about 5,000 music files into iTunes. Here comes Vassar Clements with the Orange Blossom Special.

But there's something about the screaming in the background that just kind of fits in with my current work environment.
At the moment, I'm importing about 5,000 music files into iTunes.
At 99 cents a copy that's pretty pricey!
I recently added selections from my Frank Zappa CD collection and a few choice tunes from "The Last Waltz" to my playlist.
Since I am the only member of Clan Lurker who doesn't actually own an I-Pod I have to listen to them on my rather aged ThinkPad.
It's better than nothing I suppose.

I'm importing my brother-in-law's tape collection. He has 56 reels, and each reel holds about 7 hours of music, about 100 songs. Most of these tapes are 25 or 30 years old, including a lot of out-of-print stuff. A lot of it is excellent (Doc Watson, Flatt & Scruggs, Jerry Jeff Walker, etc.), and some is execrable (e.g. Buffy Saint-Marie).
I'm processing the signal to eliminate hiss, pops, scratches and the quality turns out decent. The hard part is dividing it into separate songs and entering the titles.

I'm using that iMic with the "Final Vinyl" software - plus "SoundSoap2". It works well.

I saw him once with The Residents. Quite the guitar virtuoso.

Almost forgot - I imported "The Last Waltz" earlier today - the whole thing. The digitally remastered version is awesome. I think it's the best rock and roll movie ever made, bar none.

I am listening to London Homesick Blues right now...

Oh man, the Cramps! I saw them on a triple bill with The Plasmatics and The Dead Kennedys, or it may have been a doulbe bill with one of them. It's kind of hazy. I can't imagine why.
I'm pretty sure they were good shows.

Speaking of JJW and friends, my favorite album of 2006 is "Snake Farm" by Ray Wylie Hubbard. His blues style just keeps getting better.

The female "singer" in that video looks like Zaphod Beeblebrox from the old HHGTTG TV show.
With just the one head, of course.
