Country dumped them the first year they made their comment. They went to the show in Vegas that year, were shut out and haven't been back since (that I'm aware of).

"I was only watching to see Sonny James go into the Hall of Fame "

I am a BIG Sonny James fan. Young Love is one of my faves.
He deserves any accolades given.

I always want to sing "Jesus countersteer" when I hear that song (makes my wife want to slug me).

She made trashy, anti-Bush comments after Katrina, blaming him, yada, yada... started with Tim making comments and then she joined his chorus.

...and Faith Hill's histrionic performance on the song "Cry" was a crime against humanity.

Do you mean the Johnnie Ray classic? Since it's Election Eve, I'll post my version of that song for Faith and Tim and the other Dems tuning in:

CRY (If you see polls)
By Johnnie Ray-of-Sunshine
Tune: "Cry" (If your sweetheart)

If you see polls that turn out to be too high
It's just Diebold, you'll feel better if you cry
When voting on a touchscreen
Don't you sometimes think it's real
But it's only fall elections that they steal

If the FReepers seem to hang around and gloat
And the red states keep getting redder with each vote
November storm clouds can be found
Behind the sunny skies
So get your hopes down and go on and cry

If the FReepers seem to hang around and gloat
And the red states keep getting redder with each vote
Well now, November storm clouds can be found
Behind a sunny sky
So get your hopes down and go on and cry

She and hubby give to the Rats.

Not just that, but because Tim is from Louisiana, they got involved in all that Katrina stuff awhile back, and made some pretty nasty remarks.

If Clinton were president, she would have received a personal invitation to the Oval (groping arena) Office.

Wrong Cry. Johnnie's is a classic. Faith's was a train wreck.

I guess she resents turning old and losing to a young girl.

I think you're getting warmer...I really think she resents losing to Carrie Underwood. She probably wouldn't have thrown such a fit if Martina or Sara had won. She probably would have started breaking things if Gretchen won, however.

...these days it is a production rather than good music.

You got that right. But still, some good comes through. Can't wait to see Alan, and Martina.

I don't think it has to do with age. She hasn't recorded a good song for several years now (IMO) and her political comments don't play with country fans.

I agree. Carrie has won so many award this past year - her first year in the business. I liked that Carrie never expected to win and was truly gracious and grateful she won. And, she included God in her thanks. I do like Gretchen a lot too.

I was lucky enough to see Sonny James on a package show
with Marty Robbins and Red Sovine in the late sixties.
Great show. Faith who?

It has been sad watching the Faith Hill transformation. She goes from a fresh-faced, girl-next-door beauty to the glammed up Las Vegas lounge act wannabe. She can sing about still being a "Mississippi Girl" but we do have eyes and ears.
