LOS ANGELES - Country singer Sara Evans on Thursday announced she was filing for divorce and quitting the “Dancing With the Stars” television competition.
Evans filed for divorce from Craig Schelske in Williamson County, Tenn., where she lives, according to a statement issued by Allen Brown, her representative at Sony BMG Music Entertainment.

And country music stations as well as her website were asking people to vote for her as well. I wonder if that's legit? Seems there must be more to the story IMO.

According to the article pnz1 refers to in today's 10/13 Nashville Tennessean (Gannett--no linky possible), Sara's got a LOT of problems at home.

Sara Evans filed for divorce Thursday from her husband of 13 years, Craig Schelske, in Williamson County, alleging that he had committed adultery, verbally abused her and frequently watched pornography at home. On Thursday, Evans announced that she has dropped out of the ABC show “Dancing with the Stars” to give her family her full attention.
According to the document filed in chancery court, Schelske allegedly has on his computer at least 100 photographs of himself posing with his erect penis. There are several photographs of him having sex with other women, the filings stated....

This is sad news. I like Sara a lot. Craig ran for congress in 2003 but didn't win and I thought the country singer and politician made a great couple. Prayers to her and the family.
