Not quite Ansel Adams quality, but a nice black-and-white image of Nevada Huandoy in the Andes:

Color image: the sheer rockface on the left (right front in the black and white image) is apparently a well-known climber's challenge:
On another note, this place in France, the "Cascade du Sautadet", looks like a theme-park water ride (you can actually swim there, but caution is advised). The formation is due to wind and water erosion.

Is that you, Noah?
Neat second pic!
Make that neat #3!
Thanks for the ping! I especially like the one on bottom with the water. I wonder why it's dangerous to swimmers? It looks like something I would do. :o)
Tricky currents, slippery rocks, and apparently can be windy for someone trying to jump off the side.
I love these photos. Thanks for sending them to us.
No problem. I like 'em too.
I would add rip tides and "flat" rock surfaces: If you get tired, or just need to catch your breath after being hit by a twisting wave, the rocks are too steep to get a handhold.
If you use Google Image search with "Cascade du Sautadet" or just "Sautadet" you'll find some images of swimmers there. There are some coves with little beaches and calmer water. I'd still want to be very careful in there. Here's a couple examples:

If you go to this link, you can see that quite a few swimmers try it out.
I would not recommend swimming here, though:
Fast water (the signs at the top might say "No Swimming Here Unless You're Nuts" in French)
This picture shows some of it is not that deep, so that wouldn't be so bad. It certainly looks like the locals don't think it's all that bad.
