I'm sure the artist just meant to imply muscle.
Eh, we'll have to wait and see. That image you posted is from the point in the story where the Rangers are ambushed and well before the man puts on the mask.
As I recall, the LR (in the original pulp novels) set out to kill those responsible, too, but decided it was better to turn them in instead - at the last minute. We'll see. I dunno about the child abuse, though...
Relax it's a good read. The LR originally wore a red shirt...before Clayton Moore did the tv show. I saw the comic and it is more of an adult..and Reid's father cautions him about killing ...
