UNITED NATIONS - Jay-Z boycotted premium champagne Cristal at his clubs after the brand's owner made some remarks he didn't like. Now the rap superstar has a new favorite drink: water.
- - - - - Snip - - - -
"I figure that once I stumbled upon that, if the information was out and young people knew that these problems exist while we're having Poland Springs at Cipriani and things like that, that we'll get involved," said the 36-year-old rapper, referring to the high-class restaurant chain.

Poland Springs at Cipriani... He must be referring to his 'crew' because young people, most likely, don't frequent Cipriani.
Let's see if I have this straight. If the information about unclean drinking water throughout the world is disseminated to young people and they realize that Jay Z and his 'crew' drinks Poland Springs (and things like that) at Cipriani then Jay Z and his 'crew' will get involved.
Out of shame or ... ?

Sorry guys, slow news day... but on top of that, if in your family you have young ones that listen to these people it will be no wonder if they can't speak clearly.

Clean water for the masses was a cause identified by bjorn lomborg as something that could save the most lives for the least amount of money. So I think JayZ stumbled onto something that really makes sense. Broken clock is right once a day

A worldwide fresh water problem is developing. It is not a crisis yet.

Can someone help me (I often need help) understanding the water problem. Is this new do to man, or is it just because the countries with the most problems are dry lands with rising populations, or something else I just don't know (most likely).

That nickname served to get the heterosexual women, the old timers and "manly men" on board; it's George Bush.

Could it be that in these dry lands there are corrupt leaders that keep it to themselves?

Is there really a fresh drinking water problem, or is there a third-world-pooping-in-the-streets problem?

The water crisis is one of those that comes and goes. Back in the late seventies the great water shortage caused restaurants across the country to stop serving water with meals.
In the nineties it was treated tap water that popularized the bottled water so many use today...which is filled from the same tap that gave rise to the bottle.
You can blame Johnny Carson and his toilet paper shortage for the crisis mentality of today. Before then the doom and gloomers didn't realize they could use TV to work up a good scare.
I think people just enjoy a crisis.

I admit to a fascination with rap music. It is vulgar, gross, sexist, violent, raw, and dirty.
But then, so am I.

Someone should tell Jay-Z about the Ryan's Well Foundation. They've been working on this problem for a few years already.
