I've been waiting to see what would come of this case, hearings were delayed a couple of times for some reason. I think it will be interesting to see how summary judgment goes and what if anything is left for trail next year.
I'm not sure what SCO was thinking, but it couldn't have been this could it?

You do realize that this is about an American company developing for software that it distributes, don't you?I'm sure you're aware that GE thinks IBM hired Linus Torvalds to kill his dog. This makes IBM and Linux evil. Attempting rational argument with the troll is a waste of time.

Stallman works for IBM, not Torvalds. It was his first job with computers, now he helps them with licenses such as the "IPL", when he's not pushing other leftist theory.

Good for him. Your hatred of IBM, one of the largest American computer manufacturing companies in the world is well-known.

I don't hate anyone, or anything. I am simply critical of leftists, like
Richard Stallman, and of those who support them or his ideals. Since IBM employs him, and pushes his questionable socialist philosophy around the world, I am critical of them as well. I used to be a big IBM supporter, for my own home previously buying their desktops (countless), laptops, and even a dual processor server. But since they sold their PC business to the Chinese, and now push Stallman's software instead of commercial US products, I really have no use for them and their core product these days - services - since I prefer software that needs little to no service, something they obviously know nothing about. Their attempts to devalue intellectual property worldwide has only hurt their own core worth, since mutch of their worth is actually IP and developed vai R&D. IBM thinks giving software to the Chicoms is a good idea, yet only got $1.5 billion for their entire PC business. Microsoft came along and for 1 release of proprietary desktop software got twice that, and Microsoft still owns the software! This isn't just about IBM vs. Microsoft. This is about do we sell intellectual property to the rest of the world, or do we give it away to them. And why would any true American be infatuated with foreign software? If you actually do think it's better, why not build up US software to beat it? Answer - because you don't care if foreign software is better, so long as you get to use it. Unless of course it's free, which then trumps all.

Actually just a one-trick dog, though we could check for BSF affinity given that they are all in Fla.

Check his posting history and you'll clearly see that this antipathy goes way back since before the sale of the IBM PC division to the chinese military.
Personally, my working theory of why GE hates IBM so much is because he thinks IBM hired Linus Torvalds to kill his dog.
Note to GE: You'll notice I'm not responding to you, as there is really no point in attempting to argue with the delusional.

My disdain for IBM began when they broke their partnership with SCO, the longime "Unix on Intel" vendor and turned their back on American Unix in favor of the foreign clone Linux. The license of Linux allows for the free transfer of technology around the world, including out of the United States, without return revenue. IBM did it because they now want to be a "services" company first, and damage pure software competitors Microsoft and Oracle, as well as Sun who still has the largest share Unix. It partially worked, mostly against Sun, but has cost the US billions in lost revenue as these foreign "knoppixes" you admitedly support gain market share at US product expense. Sun responded by having to open source their operating system, and give it away for free, resulting in the layoffs of thousands of US engineers. Did you care? Nah, got your knoppix for free, what else matters right.
